Nervousness

hey guys

so i just gave in my car to caraid customs and i dunno i guess im more nervous if anything

basically i went to a collision center and the biggest quote i got was 2300 for repairs but the guys at caraid are painting and lining up my whole car

is this possible lol like those guys do amazing work but im still kinda jittery cuz i specifically took it to them so theyd fix up my whole car but theres quite a bit of work needed and im worried that the costs wont suffice their costs

this is basicaly whats wrong with my car ASIDE from the damage

my bumper has been torn off and re attached flimsily (thanks redline_tuner)
i think i need a new bumper

my hood and front/rear bumpers dont sit properly and the paintjob on half the car is horrible (which is why they want to spray the whole car)

just wondering how much do you guys think lining up my whole car and getting the bumper painted and giving my whole car a fresh coat will cost

like im nervous that they wont be able to do all that with the money the insurance gives them

i was quoted 2300 for the repairs from the collision center and 1800 from the police reporting center

if anything how much money do you think will come out of my pocket

lol i called those guys goin "OMG DID THE APPRAISER COME YET, OMG LIKE RU SURE" so i think im pissing them off lol so thats why im here to piss u guys off :P

if you look at the pic super closely youll see the grille is twisted cuz of the bumper and the gap between the fender and hood is 2 big

bengali548 16-Apr-2009 04:59 PM

how so?

someone on this site must know body work prices

Hatorade 16-Apr-2009 05:03 PM

dude just wait until you get the car back.

and if its not to your liking, then just go back

bengali548 16-Apr-2009 05:04 PM

ya but that'll be in like 2 weeks basically this thread is more of an itch on my back

like i wanna know if the problems i stated above are easily fixable

Hatorade 16-Apr-2009 05:07 PM

you can be nosy and go to the shop before its done and check if its being done properly. maybe be nice to some of the mechanics there.

they'll feel bad about screwing you over if you're a friend..lol

that's all you can do for now...

Hatorade 16-Apr-2009 05:09 PM

and oh...front end damage usually needs EVERYTHING to be replaced.

if your front rad support/condensor/rad any of those things were damaged, then you should replace them. make sure they don't try to just bend/pull it back out...replace with OEM parts. $2300 is a lot of $$$

bengali548 16-Apr-2009 05:09 PM

ahh well i called the guy back he said he'll talk to me in 2 days time about whats going to be done and the specifics

X_X i have a feeling that if i want my car looking mint ill be paying out of my a55

Hatorade 16-Apr-2009 05:11 PM

lolz...next time you should just settle...

i hit a left turn car last winter in a 2000 SE. damage to headlights, hood, front rad support, etc...wasn't too bad tho

SF gave me $8,000

SF?

and 8000 eh nice but they probably had to replace the whole front of your car

Hatorade 16-Apr-2009 05:14 PM

State Farm

oh that damage isn't too bad...just inspect it METICULOUSLY when you pick it up. usually they wash and shine your car so you're distracted and won't notice imperfections...

but yeah..you should be alright

bengali548 16-Apr-2009 05:16 PM

kk thanks they said theyre going to make the car look mint and never gave me a proper estimation/quote for the damage and they kept saying "dont worry about it bro"

like these guys are the **** and masters at their trade i know cuz my bro in law got his car done there and it looked NICE but i like solid deffinite answers

Hatorade 16-Apr-2009 05:21 PM

as long as you remember who you talked to, you can point out what they promised you and stuff...dang...i had the same **** said to me before and got screwed...but that was a ghetto shop in Scaborough...lol

bengali548 16-Apr-2009 05:23 PM

lol id be worried but i know w.e. these guys are going to do theyre going to do it 2 the best of their ability

my concern is will they do everything??

lets hope lol i have to drop off headlights to them so ill take a peak

spike 16-Apr-2009 05:49 PM

Just wait till you talk to the guy, then you will know, untill them, don't worry.

_andross_ 16-Apr-2009 06:26 PM

dude you should be happy...he's doing your WHOLE car. Look on the bright side...it'll look much better after they're done with it than when you brought it in :P
