need help enlarging photos

hi computer experts. i need some help on enlarging a photo. i have a small photo of an image and when i enlargen it in photosuite it is very blurry and non understandable. i was wondering what would i have to do to make it very clear and visible to see perfectley.

well i'm no professional but if the image is low res there's probably not much you can do...
am i wrong ppl?

You are right, the only way is if it was done with ImageReady or a PDF file than when you enlarge there will be no distortion.

That's not entirely correct. Bitmaps in any piece of software will distort if blown up too much.

Vector images (such as clipart, etc.) are a different story.

I posted a little thread about this about a month ago. You can try increasing the dimensions proportionately to decreasing the DPI in Photoshop by turning off the flag on Resample Image under the Edit > Image Size feature.

if you scanned it in you could make it bigger by scanning again and changing the resolution, then it would be less blury

Thats true, scanners are "optimized" therefore they scan around XXX dpi, but if you want a really detailed, high resolution scan than use a higher scan, example you can scan images upto 600DPi it will be very big and detail, also large in file size.
