I had an SIR exhaust on my 98 Si. The SIR was about 1/2" bigger in diameter and if I remember correctly, stainless steel with mandrel bends too. I doubt it made any more power, but it was cheap and it did sound much better then the stock Si exhaust.

Do your homework. You can make decent power N/A with the Y8.
I/H/E now throw in some P29's or PM7's add a stage 2 or 3 cam with springs (stock d retainers can handle 9000+ rpm's) bump the compression, with a tune your looking at easily 140+whp. Been done a ton of times.

ur all about the n/a d-series eh t-mack?

thats a lot of work/money for 140whp when a straight b16 swap would make that much power and most likely cost less.

This guy said he's too cheap to do a swap, so I doubt he'll want to pull the engine out to replace pistons and do a build.

Enjoy the 110whp this engine makes, get I/H/E so it sounds a little better and do some appearance mods (if thats what you're in to).

issue is.. I just bought this car for 5 grand.. which was a mistake I guess I didn't know the engine was this small I googled honda civic si and it showed me a 160hp b16 vehicle.. and after I bought it I realized it was just a d16..
but thats life..
I can't return the vehicle and I'm not rich enough for a engine swap.. I guess i'll just do the exhaust header and intake and just leave it as is.. **** it

Full out engine swap /w B-series transmission will probably run you between $1500-2000 for a 2nd gen B16A. Mounts and other misc. parts will tack on a little to this price too.

Labor ran me about $800 for my swap... though cost will vary based on whatever garage you go to.

I agree with the end part......lets face it there's no such ting as cheap and fast in the same sentence.
He might be better off ordering the Tornado or an electric supercharger.

But really...building a fast d-series NA is not that exspensive and still cheaper then a b16 swap.
I can break it down easy for you.
FJT rebuild kit $300
Bisi cam and camgear $325
Aftermarket springs $150
I/H/E, I figure you should have that already? And a tune. Still cheaper and making more power then a stock b16.

Or you can do a turbo kit for cheeper then a b16, and make more power then both with a good tune.

Whats with the electric supercharger thing and the tornado? a scam? lol I saw that **** around and I laughed.

Where could I find the FJT rebuild kit, and aftermarket springs..
the intake i'll find somewheres eventually... I'm having a problem finding a half decent header and I'm thinking of getting an axle back ractive exhaust system
with
stainless steel 2 1/4 " piping with a angled muffler

Whatcha think?
Thanks all for the help.. !!
p.s.: sorry for asking where to find those parts just I can't find anything in Canada.. if you order anything from the u.s. first you're paying USD then you gotta pay duties and other taxes and a ****load of shipping.. makes no sense.

The SIR exhaust I mentioned earlier will do the same thing without sounding like sime fartcan exhaust like the Ractive will.

What parts are you looking for that you cant find?

I'm looking for a brand name cold air intake a cheap header and a half decent exhaust.. I just want it to sound ****ing good.. with the stock exhaust it sounds like a garbage can hah.

Don't know what kinda camshaft I should get for it.. and I also can't find a FJT rebuild kit.

I don't know if I should get the vehicle lowered.. since I'll always end up ****ing my vehicle up with bumps.

other than that I've ordered a grille, and a front and back type-r lip and will install it all by friday..

I must be a total idiot then because I can't find any half decent parts for my car!.

Thanks EVERYONE for the help.. I can't wait till my civic is a finished product.
