Ed (Sir_Yo), I remember now. I'm seen Ed's (echien) Sol personally and it's like super clean. Echien, I guess it would only be fitting if the sol were to be passed on to another "Ed" don't you think? Sir_yo, you'd like it. I have to give my thumbs up on this one. It's a sweet sol.

Cheers,
Buddah.

way more than 6 man... my buddy just bought a virgin stock B16A and he swapped it out for a B20 turbo. I asked him not to, but my plea was disregarded. #s matching B16A3 del Sol will one day be worth good money.

guys with knowledge about the del sol... what would I be looking for specifically in the VTEC trim as opposed to the the Si trim if I'm looking at these cars BESIDES the engine? I don't want one that is Si and did a b16 swap for various reasons... are there specific things that I should look for in the VTEC trim?

btw charles, we'll talk at the meet and or korean bbq and I'll explain

The cluster goes to 9000 RPM but all other trims are the same.
You can also tell if it's a true DOHC by the vin#. And on the back of the trunk they have a little DOHC VTEC sticker.

heh. well, ok. there are a few better ways to tell than *stickers*. the cluster redlines at 8,250 rpm (94-95) 8,000 (96-97). The engine block will say B16A2 or B16A3. VTEC's were only made from 94-97.

true VTEC's VIN begin with JHMEG2.....note the EG2.

vtec's have ABS, four wheel disc brakes with nissin calipers, front strut brace and rear sway bar, firmer and lower suspension, shorter gear ratios. (very short tranny), OEM 195/60/14 tires and 5 spoke alloy wheels. i'm sure i'm forgetting some, but that should cover the important stuff.
