Exclamation Markville Mall--Look out

I was at Markville yesterday near the Wal Mart entrance. Saw two guys in a blue Chevy Lumina that looked really suspicious. As I was leaving my car (parked 2 cars away) I noticed one guy get out of the car. I thought Oh hell no!! As I walked toward my car I saw him go back to his.

Anyways, I moved my car to a more appropriate spot making sure they didn't follow me. As I walked back I caught a glance of the driver and passenger. The driver was writing something on a notebook. He also had post it notes on the dash and steering wheel. Scoping the parking lot maybe?

Maybe I'm being paranoid but after all these TCC members cars getting stolen I'm not taking any chances.

Just giving everyone a heads up.

Oh yeah got the plate # and a good description of the car.

Yes, thieves are going around scoping out cars and writing down plate #'s so they can jack them later. A guy on ClubSi had the same thing happen to him.

Anyone know if you can find out from the Ministry of trans if the title to your car has been pulled?

Is that what they were looking at lic # to pull title and get your name and city you live in, then cross ref with phone book or something to get your address?

We need to be proactive, someone should jack their ride and see how they like it. j/k

Okay maybe jack it and park it 3 doors down as a warning.

I believe you need a VIN# to do a history of the car to get that sellers package I believe you are referring to.
Dunno if it's misuse of the system, but anyways...maybe that is what they are doing....perhaps others should see if stuff like that was pulled on their cars prior to it being stolen....it has to be paid by credit card, so there is a traceback method
Just a thought

Hmm, yes i think you are right, it's all comming back to me when I pulled title on my car, (when i was about to buy it)

Maybe I should cover up my VIN in the window...

You should report the info to the cops as well, mall security might not do anything about it.

Thanks for the heads up, I go the Markville quite often.

Actually...

You can obtain a UVIP from any MTO kiosk with just the licence plate info.

It'll tell you the present owner, the former owners, whether or not there is a lien against it, etc.

hmm, shouldn't that be banned or something? I mean any leads on any information of this nature is a disclosure of your personal privacy is it not?

Again I believe it is the VIN number not the license plate

Not unless it's changed within the last 2 weeks.

If you doubt me, give me your licence plate #. In 5 minutes, I'll respond with your full name, address, financial instutition and I'll even tell you what you had for breakfast this morning.
