Question People complaining about IF

I think that Team Slipstream was completely out of line, in how they dealt with that situation. Instead of sitting on their site and complaining they should have started making calls and being professional about the situation. This is why I believe TCC is amongst the best clubs of Toronto. The people we have in place are all responsible, timely, and professional. Our club was represented well at Importfest, and I have barely heard any complaints from members. Then I read further in the post and one of the show helpers for Importfest got online and started railing them because he felt insulted by the way they spoke of the show. I do not blame him at all, I would not want to do all of that work only for someone to come and bad mouth it. I think TCC did a great job at the show, thank you all for helping me show my friend from Japan around the show, Thanks again Michelle for the T-Shirt, Jeff, it was good to see you and how well your ride looks now (Man U rules forever!!!). I will see you all in the Spring/Summer. Ciao.

I guess the people who liked importfest havent entered any other shows before... I agree with the memebers of Team Slipstream, it was a poorly organized show like last year. I wont be going back unless its for free

How is it not unorganized? The people setting up the event should realize that the majority of thier competitors are not in school and have to work the daily 9 - 5 grind. Having the roll in between 12 - 8 is pretty stupid eventhough cars were still rolling in at 11 because there was still a huge line up. After finishing the registration process, the rest seems pretty quick. Why? Because they treat the skydome as one big parking lot. Pull in and park beside the next guy that was infront of you in line. If the organizers put some time into marking off areas and figuring out where certain teams and cars should go, it would be a lot better. SCP in Montreal was just as large as Importfest but they were still able to place every car into a certain pre-arranged spot in the event. These guys do one show a year, its not like they dont have time...

seams liek teams were all parked together when i went.. hell they were very helpfull and even held spots while we were washing cars...

unorganization and coming for a late roll call are different things...

a huge day like this i would have suggested taking the day off liek i did...

ah well people will always complain - yet they do ot realise how hard and how much effort these peopel put into a show of this size...

they didn't even let us wash our cars at the spray booth when we rolled in Vital motion and co.

they said that the hose was closed off and we couldn't use em..we had to wash our cars with buckets and had to get the water from the bathroom!

but later on in the night i seen R squadron cars using the spray booth...pretty hypocritcal

they wanted to put me and a couple other ppl in different sections even tho we rolled in with our team ...

i didn't find it that bad since it was my first showing at importfest but the end suxed *** like most shows when it's a long day..that MC suxed *** and needed to STFU dragging it on and on .. i understand that the awards weren't ready but still making fun of ppl to waste time is uncalled for. how many times did he say that guy was gonna miss the TTC bus?

i had fun tho. it was a good experience

Exactly, it was a more organized show and larger than importfest. Like I said, they had a whole year to figure everything out and it looked like it took no more than a week to plan importfest

HEy Marco....

FYI - You should know what your talking about before spouting off. 20 of our 21 cars took the day off and rolled in at 2:00pm. Thanks for your insight into leaving things for the last minute... they do not apply. Our cars werent all that great? We took home 5 awards. I am going to assume more than Drastic... but we dont go for awards, we go to rep the club and have a good time. We did that very well.

We feel that some things were unorganized. We have that right (Other clubs such as UNI, GTASentra, some vital motion ppl and others do as well). I presented these in polite and to the point e-mails. What I got back was much less than professional. Either way, in the end its just a show. Love it or hate it.

Michelle - Didnt see you around.
Jeff - A pleasure as always

how many were actual memebrs and din just sign up for discounted entree...
regardless was a good show.. not worth complaining for as no one could do t better...

look back at scp that was the worse show.. premeet under a bridge, lost entrees, everything was a joke.

importfest ended pretty much on time.. brought crowds that no other show can bring .

regardless who brought home what - the fact that they managed to pull off the show with little problems for the amount of peopel is pretty go in my eyes

Your opinion is it was great. Mine, and many others did not think so. I do not think taking 2 hours to roll a team in is acceptable. They had no idea what to do with such a large group. Their words, not mine! Perhaps it was a lot easier for you guys in DC with a small turnout.

Not sure what your interpretation of "offical members" is, but it doesnt matter. I just pointed it out. You made the point to say the cars werent that great.... guess others felt different
Funny, in person you dont seem to say things like that. People like to say different **** than online.... whatever.

as i'm sure the same goes for this...
rollin was on the friday, was your isues discussed with them then, or brought over the internet for all to see / hear...

turnout? plenty of clubs had small turnouts. we did not advertise for anyone to come out with us, but just as tcc did - their show team. if we wanted 50 cars to come out, so be it - but they are not part of the club just acting for the day.

forums are just that.

n e how. to next season - hope your dispute with importfest works out

Issues were brought up the day of FYI.

E-mails were sent before it was made public. Responses posted. If you feel it was acceptable for the unprofessional attuitude thats cool... I dont think it was. As expressed by my replies.

As for number of people.... 1 of them had never came out to a weekly meet. The rest show up. Can't say there was advertising outside of a thread on our forums LOL! Oh well. Like I said, you dont need to like our cars. We do. and looks like some judges did. End of story.

As for turnout, I am not bagging on you guys. Just saying that the reason given was "Whoa... so many cars, we dont know what to do with you guys.....". Obviously if we rolled in with like 5 or 6 guys it would have been easier.

The only reason why SCP "toronto" was a mess, was because it was the first time ever being in "toronto. I guess they were testing it out to see if it was worth it.

Now if you look at SCP "montreal". That show is 10times better then Import Fest, in each and everyway. Hands down.

So head up to Montreal for their SCP and you will see what Transformer Guy is talking about.
