no way that stock SiR will pull a 170 even at the wheels

145-150 is more realistic

No disrespect, but this is discussion and you asked a couple of questions. I agree with what everyone is saying here. You do not find dyno's at Honda dealerships. Second, you look at any specs for a 6th generation SIR, the HP rating is 160. Honestly, there is no way you are pulling 170 in that car. If they are doing a dyno run at this place, you should have the dyno sheet to tell you what the results are. You might want to check that and see what they recorded.

Also, if you don't care what we say, why ask questions on how to increase your HP? To get 210 on a stock SIR, you are looking at either doing a turbo or supercharger.

By doing the internals and exhaust changes will only bring it up to about 160 hp. I know this because I have an article on an SIR where they changed the cams exhaust and some tuning to bring it to its actual rated HP.

That's my opinion on th subject, whether you take it or not is up to you. We are not here to slam you, just trying to educate you on actual facts.

I just think you dug your own grave with that reply.

ON PAPER from HONDA

B16A2 (99/00 SiR) came stock with 160HP @ the crank

170HP on a dyno pull with a stock engine is unrealastic. Unless the sales guy lied to you or the dyno machine is out to lunch. Are you 100% sure you have a B16a2 installed and not a B18C5?

I call BS until a dyno sheet is scaned and posted up.

<-- BTW I don't know her name, so don't ask

hahaha!

Common now?

170hp stock sir to the wheels?

hahahaha!

Damn.

Anyways $1600 isn't going to get you anywhere unless you turbo it and even with that, save up some more money.

i've seen hondas with a dyno....but they are strictly for doing emission tests and were never designed to see 8200rpms with a car doing a hard pull.

Like said before, honda rates the b16s at 160 HP at the crank...not at the wheels. Take an aproximate 15% away from that for the loss through the drivetrain and you've got yourself 140 WHP. I've seen plenty of stock and even I/H/E modded b16s dyno between 130-150whp. It all depends on how bagged the engine is. You have to keep in mind, hondas rating of 160 HP at the crank is when the engine is brand new with good compression. Take 10 years of beating the crap out of it, then its gunna put down less on the dyno.

Anyways, congrats on the new SIR, maintain it, mod it and enjoy it.

The best thing you can do for it now is get coils. Wait until you have more money to start doing work to the engine. Do it right the first time instead of half assing it half way.

Welcome to TCC and nice choice on the SiR. 170 is very hard to believe though. I don't even think my Si makes that to the wheels.

For your budget, personally I wouldn't even bother with engine mods. A decent I/H/E will cost $1600 and will probably only yield about 15-20 hp if you're lucky.

With $1600, you could buy a basic coilover kit from Omni or PIC and a decent set of summer tires. IMO you would enjoy it more then a few extra HP.

if you want power for 1600 i recommend pulling out your motor and selling it and add the 1600 on top and get a b18c (jdm R) or a c5 (usdm r) best bang for the buck seeing as your b16a2 is free cuz it came with the car. you could go turbo with the 1600 but it will be half assed for sure.
