Ok this is kind of a 2 part question:

Part 1:

To get the validation sticker on my license plate, what do I need?

To my knowledge, I just need my vehicle resgistration/ownership, emissions test papers, and insurance.


Part 2:

I think the insurance part is going to be kind of shady to them (ministry of transportation) because the insurance is not under my name.

I was wondering if it is still legit enough for me to own the vehicle but have someone else insure the vehicle for me.

The vehicle is under my name, but I couldn't afford the insurance so my mom's friend said he'll insure it for me. So he took my ownership to his insurance company and got it insured. So I just pay him whatever every month.

As long as the vehicle is insured, it should be fine right? Does anyone think I am going to run into some trouble at the ministry office while getting my sticker?

they dont even need to see the slip of paper of proof on insurance...u fill in that part of the form yourself u could put "123456789" as your policy number and they wouldnt care (highly exaggerated though)

I've bought nuff cars and used false policy numeros to get my plates and crap transfered over

So it's kind of like getting a 10 day temporary permit? I've gotten many of those and they dont ask me for insurance. I just fill out the policy number...

FYI: There is a H-T Toronto meet on June 5th. I believe it will be somewhere in Mississauga. I'll update it more later. I'll probably see your ride in person then
