How much torque again? 2007 Mazdaspeed 3

holy ****, this is nuts, i bet this thing will be pretty fast... read this article and check the specs out...

http://autos.msn.com/advice/article....tentid=4024238

Output is 263 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque for the MAZDASPEED3

it has an electronic boost controller too!!! i would have to ditch that in 2nd gear though...

is it classified as a wagon? I thought it was just considered a 5-door hatchback... it certainly doesn't look like a wagon...

honestly, for this price i would be pissed that i bought any car in the 25-26K range... LSD, electronic boost control, upgraded suspension... owning the new SI by alot so far....

the speed3 being more powerful than the speed6 is interesting...very impressive numbers...specially the max. torque of 280lbs-fit at only 3K rpm.

with a starting price of under $25K..its gonna be a winner im sure...only if you can get your hands on one...the article said...only 5K will be sent to US in the first year..lol

Acura/Honda...you listening? where is the damn csx type-s?

"Too bad it's a wagon"???!!!

Dude! thats the best part!!!

Cops see a sporty looking civic coupe, they go after it....they see a wagon....they say 'meh'..and let it go!

Sleeper all the way...no one suspects a wagon (allthough we'll all know a mazdaspeed 3 when we see one).

You can have a crazy fast car at a good price and have the practicality of a wagon too....like having your cake and eating it too...lol

Some one I know took a ride in a mazdaspeed 6 and said it was really quick until about 500 to 1000 rpm before redline...it was like hitting a wall of zero power...seems mazda didn't want ppl bouncing this motor off the limiter at maximum boost levels for some reason....hope the mazdaspeed 3 is not like that...

it will be a killer for all those old people buying them to relive their youth... they'll be in third gear trying to race some kid in a civic and oh wait... BOOOST... ahh, too much power... hahaha. 280 ft/lbs torque is nuts!!!!

honda will have something sweet for us in 2007 for sure
since rumours say (maybe its verify?) the tsx will come in coupe (poosibly turbo?) and rsx is discontinued for now... isn't that the story?

i'm sure honda is waiting to sneak behind all those other makers... let them start selling all their new models, then honda will start to sneak behind and give us something even better... hahaha

Ditto. I don't plan on trading my Si in for one. Honda will still own it in reliability and resale, both of which are very important to me. Sure it may be very fast, but thats about it. Its very heavy and the LSD and electronic controls limit power when the wheel is turned to limit torque steer. Mazda is also known for over-rating their numbers and their cars are never as fast is they are supposed to be.

So a Dodge Magnum is a hatchback too?

4 doors with a tailgate=wagon.

Wagon FTL!
