and would it matter what colour you use?

Paint job for a car can vary in cost. I painted my car for 1000$ and that included fixing a few dents and rust. However for what I searched the average to have your car repainted is about 1500$-2000$.

It also depends on the condition of your car ( rust , dents , etc )...

As for your second question , yes it would matter if you decide to stick with the original paint colour or change it completely. If you decide to change the colour of your car the cost could go up to 3000$-4000$ for a good job. Unless you just want to paint the outside black and leave the inside white ( supposing thats the colour of your car) which willl look bad so I wouldnt do it...

I would also recomend you to use the search button , I remember there was a thread with different bodyshops around toronto , their cost and reviews.

I paid over $5000. But i bought expensive base and clear, aad a lot of rust fixing and custom metal work done. Also, unlike cheaper places the shop i used took my entire car apart and painted everything seperately. So my fenders, bumpers, hood, doors, hatch, etc had the same finish inside and out. I guess it depends how long you want your paint to last. I had mine done in the winter of 04 and the car looked just as good when i put it in storage last year as the day it came out of the paint shop.
