how to move my car?

hi, my sedan has no insurance or plates or anything on it at the moment cuz my mom gave it to me at the start of summer and she went and bought a car. Its been sitting in my driveway while i work on it everyday. The thing is that im almost done all the bodywork an dthen it will need paint. Im gonna bring the car over to my friend garage to get it painted. How can i get my car there legally. Its just on the other side of town. Id rather not get it towed cuz that mite cost a bit. I was curious if a friend taht drives a truck could tow me with some rope? Is that legal? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
kieran

Don't tow it with a rope, you'll get hammered big time.

Get a policy number and go to the ministry and get a 10 day permit for the car. $15

yep, the friend has to be there when they tow the car though. I dont' think you can just use the card like that..

Or if you know a dealer, with dealer plates.. that'll work too

I've got my car towed numerous times by CAA as well. It really pays to be a member. It's awesome too, because they have the flatbed, not a tow hook. Or at least I've been towed by the flatbed everytime.
