How hot would it take to get that "burnt" metal look?
I am just wondering. Like if I grab a propane kit and have a go at the tube, you think it would give that blueish tint? haha
Just wondering. |
it shouldnt take long...
what are u trying to burn anyways??? |
exhaust.....blueish tint and tube are the hints :)
|
Ya, I am just bored. Want to see if that is doable. heh
|
make sure its stainless you are playing with and its kinda gotta be an even heat and consistent
|
ya, stay away from galvanized, the fumes can kill you..
aluminum will just melt.. regular metal, chrome and stainless will blue as asked earlier, what are you trying to blue?? |

I used regular propane torch on aluminum pipe, the colour didn't change one bit. I think I need something as hot as welding arc to make it change.

(not all shift knobs tho!) |
As I tested, propane torch (the ones you buy at CT) has no effect on aluminum.
Not hot enough. I know welding arc will melt aluminum if done unprofessionally. |
