i heard it on 680 an called Honda and they said that by law the MTO must notify the media first and then the dealers issue letter.
the problem is the headlight switch over heats and causes the low beem lights to shut down.
the question i asked the dealer is "can this be a potential fire hazard if part of the electrical is over heating" dealer answer "not knowen at this time as we have not be adivised about the total problem" question 2 "if electrical fire occurs and i have not recievd a letter will you rplace my car" dealer answer "no comment" what kind of BULL @#$% answer is this? I have 2 2002 honda civcs and 2 kids and a wife, is it safe for them to drive the car and what is the alloted time for this problem to occur?
both my cars are 2 years old and i have had no lights problem with my stock civic, except the normal burtout headlight but you think the dealer could answer my questions allot beter or have more info.

sounds to me like the chance of this happening is pretty nil... if you are worried just feel the swictch well you are driving... ifs its really warm then maybe you have a problem... You could always put and auxilary switch on your headlight circuit... so you switch off the switch
