the high beam flash?

Ok, i've seen this a couple times in the past week so now i have to ask.

I know that if someone wants to get into your lane in front of you, you can flash your highbeams briefly to let them know that you are "letting them in". I also know that flashing your highbeams is a signal to someone who is already in front of you that you want to go past, IE in the left lane on the highway.

But for example.. I pulled in front of a truck when merging onto the highway from the on ramp. I didn't cut him off by any definition of the term.. The truck behind me then turned on his highbeams for a good 10 seconds. At the time i just figured he was an ******* or something.

I saw this happen with someone else. And then just this morning i saw somebody change lanes and then turn on their highbeams for a few seconds (like the other times, not just a flash, but for a few seconds at least).

I am curious because now i wonder if this means something to other people that I don't know about.. what's the deal? or are these people actually just retards trying to blind people?

I think you got flashed was because you somehow pissed him off. Truckers do that all the time. Once I got flashed with high beams like 3 or 4 times in the middle lane and there was another car in front of me going slow and I didn't have time to change lanes. It's not like he didn't see the other car in front of me since he's like 10 feet higher than the rest of the vehicles on the road. I'd say they're just a**holes who thinks they own the roads. Mind you, not all truckers are like that. They have a system for quick flashes and long high beams. You pissed him off!

if someone is pissed at me on the highway they normally tail gate like crazy, so i just hit the brakes slightly to see if they are paying attention.......it calms em down pretty quick and makes them realize they should probably stop....and if they hit me, its their fault technically....lol

those who cut into me without signalling, or dangerously cut into my lane... i'll follow them at a distance where my HID would blind them hahahaha

those who doesn't have headlights on, i usually slow down and drive next to them and wave at them and point at their headlights........ HAHAHAHA they usually get freak out when i wave at them.... they get all nervous

You got flashed because you have shortened his safety distance.

Often, people (not saying you) cut into a lane thinking there is enough space (like 4 to 5 cars) without realizing that you have just shortened other cars' safety distance.

A hand full of pennies will do, cheaper than one park plug. But I don't recommend doing so.

I use either spark plugs or wrenches, what I grab first pretty much, as long as it isn't my shih tzu

^^^^

I've never had the reverse spot light. I'm not sure even what it is. But to answer the question, any flash outside of the left lane means that you cut the man off and you pissed him off.
