Have you ever ...
... thought about not fixing up your civic anymore?
today i bought an expensive **** momo millenium evo steeering wheel ... after that it occured to me that i put so much money into my little shietvic, for what? i love my car, but it will still be a civic in the end ... i'm going to finish up with the paint and bodywork and that will be it ... i am saving up for a better car (impreza sti)...
has anyone come this decision?

im saveing for a house now... ill replace my motor when it pops, no more modding it, its adictive and its gonna stop. altho this is easy for me to say cuz ive done about 90% of everything i ever wanted to do to it (reasonably). Im super happy with the state of my car, time to move onto bigger and better things in life
but yah, saveing for a house now, much more important and practical, and its an investment not a liability.

I think if you just take your time and dont dump a ton of money into the car all at once it isnt so bad. But when you go an spend like $10000 on a motor or on bodywork or something then I think thats stupid. If you truly love your car then you would do what you want with it and then save up for another car. After putting so much time and sweat and money into my civic I dont plan on selling it. There is always gonna be a "better" car but with the more expensive cars there isnt really a way to have it be a representation of you. Like what can you really do to a Enzo or viper to personalize it?:P

I Casually do things to my car......when im bored....or when i feel the need to spice it up a bit...i'll add something on . . and in a week if i don't like it i'll take it off.....play around. . .
i've never spent that much on my cars interior or exterior. . . . just stuff to keep me happy. . .
A civic is just a stepping stone car for many. . .and it's true in the end it'll still be a civic. . . I plan on always having a civic in my garage. . . so i hope to get another car sooner or later down the road. . and make my civic a winter beater. . and the good car a good summer car....but that won't happen till a while from now .. .

LOL people spend more money on their car than what the car is worth lol.. but if you can afford it and you want to customize it as much as you can, then go right ahead..
I'm not done with this car yet...

i regret spending every penny on my car and wish i bought a motorcycle instead.. but insurance would kill me and i'd drive an ugly *** slow civic... but still... i think it was a waste of cash.. i may change my mind once its on the road though

Sometimes its not worth dumping a lot of money in your civic. I mean if you put a few thousand dollars in your car its still a civic, right. You might have the best looking civic in your area but sad to say its still a civic.
If someone ask you, what do you drive...?? "civic" Most of the time he wont ask you how much you spent on it. If you save up your money and lease/buy a better one. Hey what do you drive? "s2000" or maybe "supra" or perhaps "sti" or "m3" wouldnt that sound better? I would rather get a s2000 than a modified civic. I dunno just my 0.02'

i agree with you teejay ... i spent close to the cost of the vehicle when i first got it, it was addictive ... i don't regret how much i spent on it ... i covered most of the vehicle and i am greatly satisfied ... it was fun and exciting in the beginning, now it's like blah, want something else better ... i won't be selling my car, but finish up what i have in plans and stop modding it ...
