Gas Up Up Up Up Up

yea thats boon****. They're jacking up prices cause of the possibility that Hurricane Ike will damage refinieries and slow down production.
Meanwhile oil futures dropped another dollar today to be around $100 per barrel on the market.
If Ike does do some serios damage, that'll give these boonshiz companies to raise price of gas even more, and if nothing happens?
I bet you gas will only drop 5 cents.
Does any of this make sense? I've been keeping a watchful eye every morning taking a look at the price of oil and than driving to work looking at gas prices.
Whenver oil prices go up, they'll jack the price of gas several cents.
When oil prices go down, they'll leave gas prices as it is or drop it only 1 cent.
that seems damn fishy to me.

don't stress over things you can't do anything about. i just drive less and fill up whenever i need, regardless of price. so it might cost an extra $5 per fill...
bottom line is, if you wanna see 'lower' prices, demand has to drop. and by lower, i mean not increasing 50% year over year, but only 10%

I really couldn't careless about the price. Yes it is high, but can I afford not to drive to work and take bus instead? No I can't. So when I need to fill up, I fill up.
The only thing that is worth waiting for is one of those "Out of Bronze, fill up 91 at the price of 87" kinda thing.

raising the issue is independent of doing something about it. what we as consumers can DO about it, is reduce consumption. if every person reduced their fuel consumption by 10%, that may have an impact. *may* being the key word... but in either case, cutting fuel consumption WILL pad your budget at any price. remember, the market for gasoline is a highly fragmented price inelastic market, meaning buyers are price takers with low (non-existant) bargaining power.
