G test question

i'm going to take my G test soon and i'm planning on bringing my hatch but it's lowered and has an exhaust and intake. would it be ok to bring my car to take my G test? or should i try to find a stock car to take?

Take a stock car....

The examiner can refuse a test based on vehicle..

Its so easy but you hafe to do eveything absolutely correct in the right order. Which is easy, but we all develop are own driving habits. I recommend a 2 hr refresher course by a driving instructer. Mine cost 30 bux for 2 hrs and he pointed out every thing I was doing wrong, and belive me there was lots.

Which testing center are you taking it at? I found that Vic. Park/Lawrence testing center is easy.

That's where I took my full G test. I used my father's stock Accord for the test.

I went there for my G as well back in the day when my civic was absolutely stock! hehe Pretty easy there, but test i believe takes a bit longer because you have to drive out a bit to get to the highway. But as recommended earlier, try to get refreshed on rules and stuff again. I didn't but thats because I drive like grandma anyway.

For your driving exams.. take it in automatic if you can....

This way you have 2 less things to worry about... clutch and gears...

I drive stick but I took my G test in auto. Makes life a lot easier.

I would take the most stock and quiet car you can find.

For the Vic./Park test center the drove down to Eglington Ave. then exited on to the DVP and finished at the Lawrence Ave. exit.

Easy and very little traffic it was around 10:30 A.M.

For the car, what they look for is brake lights working, valid licence plate sticker, and the front and rear turn signals in working order.

As for the test, it is easy, emergency stop (don't forget the 4 ways), highway, lane change on highway, you are finished

I passed with 26 out of 30 allowable points taken off (4 left). When the guy took me on the highway, he said "401 East collector" .... then he spooked me "I said collector Sir" .... I was like .... started changing lanes to the left (404 north) .... then swung the car back into collector (still checking the blindspot). Then the cars back end stepped out a little, and we were on our way after that. I used my parents Dodge Crand Caravan AWD. Thats why I was able to powerslide back into the lane and control the drift.

Other than that, make sure you swing your head like crazy when you get to intersections, even if the light is green .... NEVER EVER EVER speed. And don't get caught with these stupid gimmicks they will tell you:

Ie: "turn in here" .... into a one way street on oncoming traffic. Say: "I can't do that" or tell him you need more advanced warning to make a turn, NEVER put the car in danger.

Parallel Parking: Don't hit the curb, the test is over right there.
3 Point turn make sure to use the turn signal 3 times and check ALL The blindspots.

2 and 10 on the wheel, don't under-cross (put you hand under the wheel) your hands.

Check mirrors frequently, they are watching you.

USE A STOCK CAR
The last thin you want to do is to **** off the examiner with the noise. Mine even asked me to turn the radio off .... it was so tence I thought I was going to blow one

Good luck,
~Andy

G test

well u have to be careful what car you take.... the first time i went they wouldn't let me take the test cuz i had taken the headliner out of my car. I took my camaro and it has an exhaust leak..... I had to do millions of right and left turns and lane changes, a 3-pt turn, an emergency stop, and a parallel park, I also got on the highway and off and then back on again. Make sure you really swing your head around when you are checking your blindspot i didn't and he tried to tell me i relied on my mirrors too much (after he passed me though). I took mine at the one in oshawa at 9am it was pretty easy..one other thing make sure you have a death grip on that steering wheel if the road is bumpy i was told i wandered.....GOOOD LUCK! it's easy

it doesen't matter what car you take, i took my civic si standard, with exhaust, intake, lowered, clear lights and i past it with no problems. they don't look at your car, they don't care. if you fail that means you can't drive. if you bring a standard car it's harder because if you don't shift or downshift properley they fail you on the spot, so watch out for standards unless you can drive it good like i did

I was driving an SUV to do my G test a while back. The lady told me to parallel park.. on a curve. It was on a curving road and at the curve.. I never learned this.. I tried at first.. and I went right onto the curb. lol. Don't worry. They don't care unless you smack the other car that you're trying to parallel park behind.. or you mount the curb when you're parallel parking on a straight road.
