my friends bone stock motor shoots flames too, he has and intake and a header back straight pipe and his are close to four feet long. mine come out my side pipe and they are smaller than his so i am not too worried about breaking anything, and my buddies car is a canada gt touring race car. what kind of mods do you have

Header eh??? Rotary eh??? Lemme guess, it's a GTR too isn't it??? LOL

Even if that were true that your friends car is a touring race car, do you realize, how many times they rebuild that engine after every race??? Those engines are not designed for endurance...they are designed to squeeze all they can out of the motor for that 2 to 3 hours and then they rebuild it for another race. They basically kill those engines and then resurrect them. I'd be extremely worried if mine were to ever do that...means I'm running too rich and killing everything in my exhaust as well as all my sensors...So, if you're comparing your car with your friend's touring race car, you gotta think again man. Just my 2 cents.

Um, mods??? Well, let's just say 3-rotor R1TT....

Cheers,
Buddah.

If I could list the problems caused by one of these things, I would need about 10 minutes to list them all. Besides that, to a person who knows their cars, you would look like a big idiot. No pun intended.

Djorjie, if you have something really badass under the hood, you either A, don't need to prove anything to anyone, B, your car can naturally do it with some onsite tuning.

Gatsby, if you were running so much fuel at WOT where you would get flames, the car would not run properly. Flames are cause by umm lets call it gasoline reflux. It happens during the exhaust stroke. As the piston moves upward it pushes exhaust and unburnt gasoline out through the exhaust valve, runs through the manifold and ignites. You don't necessarily need a turbo to do this, though a boosted manifold run exponentially hotter. Backfires almost are always reserved for times when you are doing hard engine breaking and punching the gas at the same time. As the engine is slowing down, if you punch the gas, you actually give the engine a spike of gas under deceleration situation which creates an explosion within the EM. It burns your exhaust to crap after a while.

My friends integra can naturally throw flames on command, as well as my buddies Audi. I have Video's of both, wait no, I lost the tape of the Audi before I could stick them on the pc.

If you want to get backfire, either dump money into the engine or go for a fast and the furious casting call and join those super car techs with big spoilers. Chances are that mustang one was natural, you don't find too many ricestangs.........

Cheers
