There has been talk of it, I believe it slows down the site according to Duy.

thats silly talk...how much could a forum jump box slow down the site?

The database is queried EVERYTIME a thread page is loaded to pull in the info for each active forum for the jump box. This is in addition to the queries already running to get the vital parts of board displayed. Multiply that by 150-250 users who are online most of the time and you can see why it would slow it down.


That's not to say the dedicated server we're on couldn't handle it, I haven't gotten around to testing it but if it possible I'll put it in.
