ever had a squirrel in your muffler?

Hey people,

This morning I went to my car, and as I started it, something didn't sound right. I think something crawled in my muffler and died, or left a gift

Has this ever happend to anyone? My muffler is like 4.5 inches in diameter, and thats plently of room for a squirrel or a cat to fit in.

I've heard stories of this, but can it really happen?

or maybe you have a neighbour that got fed up with hearing you roll in at 2am and graciously "stuffed" it for ya..
or someone wanted to actually see a "watermelon" shoot out of a watermelon shooter

cruel ??? cruel??? it's not our fault the Squirrel climbed in ... even though in hindsight maybe a steel wire fence over the end pipe would have kept them out (sort of like on Chimneys) but this thing couldn't have been predicted.

after running 2" to 2.5" piping for say 12 feet, how much difference is a 4" x 12" "mufflered" exhaust pipe going to make to the performance of a car?? none...
may as well cut off the end and weld a beer keg on there for the amount of good it does...........it's all about "the look"

It's quite possible! I'm sure that if your exhaust opening is big enough, a small animal like a squirrel could definitely climb inside while looking for a nice warm place to spend the night. Maybe it died in there now, anyone up for some BBQ?

I've heard stories of neighbourhood cats that run around freely and on cold nights, they climb into engine bays and sometimes when the car owner comes outside to go to work in the morning... well, you get the idea.

i've heard a storey of a squirel flying out of a muffler and hitting a garage door.

Anyways, my car still doesn't sound normal, and I took a flash light and looked inside, I don't think anything is in there.

haha, that reminds me of going into my garage around 11:30 and the doors were left open and as soon as I walked in, I seen a black cat run out from underneath my car (engine bay). I jumped when I seen it because I didn't know what it was....

But after I started laughing about it !
