I can care less about that information.

It's all about the convenience.

I have NEVER EVER compared gas prices from one station to the next and i have never cruzzed around the city to find the cheapest gas.

If i am low on gas then i stop at the nearest station. (does not include mama/papa stations)

speaking about gas I was in Shell today and they had run out for bronze and silver gas and I asked the guy about it and he told me that when they are out of bronze they are automatically out of silver ... hmmm that really makes me want to think about fishy piping in the tanks to make more money off the bronze gas.

WTF, if no broze, silver is automatically out?? maybe they just mixed some b.s. octane booster or gas addictive while the 86 is coming outta the pipe... then what u get is a freshly mixed 89...

btw, esso's gas had been rated the worst ( or the 2nd worst ) gas in Canada.... i always use petro can or sunoco.....

guys guys guys.... Before jumping to conclusions we must research .

Shell and many of the new gas station are what we call a Blended site.....

bronze and gold are mixed to use silver. Underground they have 2 tanks , one for gold and one for bronze.

If they run out of bronze then theres no silver. Now for the older non blended sites, they have 3 seperate tanks.

well see that makes sense, like I said fishy piping (and it was a newer station), or blending piping as you'd want to call it. but now I understand how it works.. which is cool

Use silver if your car knocks on 87, but are too cheap for gold. If your car doesn't knock, then use bronze, it's the best. If you have advanced timing or boost or high compression, or are otherwise detonation-prone, use Gold or Ultra.

Would a knock cause the engine light to come on? -temporarily that is..cause whenever I use **** poor gas it comes on when I start (only in the cold to my knowledge), never with Ultra94..which I use 90% of the time anyways.
