Does anyone know much about etest.

Hey.. i have a swap in my crx.. does anyone know how they go about an etest for this situation? Like they put the car in the computer and it brings up the specs it has to meet up with but because its a different motor, do they go by what the motor is?????

Thanks
Brian

you would be tested as a "hot rod" to my understanding.

At my work we charge 37.45 for a e-test

Have a great day, i hope this helps

iof you retard your timing his NOx will go up... dont' say anythign you know nothign abuot....

before the drive clean test go fill up wiht SUNOCO ULTRA 94 gasoline... then make an appointment... and go drive yoru car really hard for 10 mins or so.... heat up the car, and the cat etc... make sure you have a fresh oil change and a recent tune up.... this should pass any motor in running shape unless your cat or O2 are gone....

my post from another recent thread about emmissions and gasoline

the reason thrillhouse and i say run ultra 94 for etests is becasue it's really about 89 octane gasoline with about 10% of alcohol by volume! this way the octane ratings of the gas go to
89 motor octane
99 research octane
now when you average them out the octane rating is 94
here is the formula

research octane number + Motor octane number
....................................2

ron = 99
mon = 89

89+99
...2

=
94

the fact that the gasoline has such a large amoutn of alcohol (10%)
means there is efectively less gasoline and since the drive clean "sniffer" only picks up HC's, NO, CO and CO2 it does'nt notice the byproducts of the alcohol content!!! this is why for etests i always run ultra 94

hell my 1987 3.8T buick passed an etest LEGITEMATELY with a ****ed up catalitic covnertor and 94 octane gas, this car has more then 542 000km had a tuneup, oil change and thats it..
and had 534 000 at the etest!!!!
