Dilema, 2005 Civic SI (price, wait, grad rebate, suspension, brakes etc)

Ok here are a few issues I am having:

1. I am looking to buy a new silver 2005 Civic SE Manual. Basically I want this car to last a long time (15 years if possible?) My plan is to run this car year around for about 2 to 3 years, then hopefully purchase a summer car such as an s2000 when I am a little but more well healed, and only use this car as a run-about, winter beater... So far the best price I have negotiated on a new 2005 Civic is $20,000 including all taxes out the door (license extra, which is understandable).

- Should I wait for the new 2006 civic and purchase that instead? Mainly I am worried that if I change my mind and dump this car after 2 to 3 years, if the new body style coming out will have a negative impact on the resale value of this car. Did that happen to 6th gen's when the 7th gen came out?

- I am also assuming the 2005 will be the most reliable civic ever, which is basically what I am looking for, since they had lots of time to work out the bugs.

2. Sisley Honda claims I can get a graduate rebate of $500 on this car (effectivley making the car $19,500 out the door - which I think is pretty good... it took less than 5 minutes to get this deal, so I am assuming I could go even lower?) Does anyone know if Honda has a graduate rebate program or are they blowing smoke? I am skeptical because I graduated in April of 2002 and it is almost 2005 now. I made that clear to the salesperson and he still said I could get the rebate.

3. When I test drove this car (the SE with standard 14" wheels) I noticed that it had MASSIVE amounts of body lean around corners. Is this normal? I also noticed the break pedal feels was very spongy. Again, is this normal? It was a charcoal grey model with about 135 KM's on it.

- I am planning on putting 16" Yokohama AVS E100 performance tires on during the summer. Will this correct the body lean, or is the suspension just that soft? I am assuming alot has to do with the crappy 14" tire setup.

4. What is the best color for durability, resale value? I am looking at the Charcoal Grey and Silver. Leaning towards silver...

Thanks!!

Look at the Market.

When the 7th Gen Civic came out it in 2001, it was designed to compete against what was in the market at that time.

Todays market demands more power, look at the Mazda3 with a base 2.0L, many of the newer cars have higher outputs.

The 2005/6 market is a lot more competative with more deamn for power, value, higher end audio. Honda will put something on the market to compete with that.
