jus to show no methanol

Formula One cars run on petrol, the specification of which is not that far removed from that used in regular road cars. Indeed, the FIA regulations state that the rules are “intended to ensure the use of fuels which are predominantly composed of compounds normally found in commercial fuels and to prohibit the use of specific power-boosting chemical compounds.”

All fuel must comply with strict requirements and prior to each race the teams must supply the FIA with two separate five-litre samples for analysis and approval. Additional samples can then be taken during the event to ensure that there is no discrepancy between the fuel being used and that previously supplied in the samples.

ohhhhh real tuning ... where power comes out my ***, huh?

so what do you plan to do in order to get this magical 500 hp?? put lambo doors on it and sprinkle leprechaun dust on the car

Let me give you a lesson in reality... most efficient OEM 4 banger is the Honda S2000 - 240 hp out of 2 liters of fury... that's 120 hp per liter. You want a 2.4 liter, which works out to 288 CRANK hp... so you are looking to DOUBLE that at the crank in order to get 500 wheel hp. Good luck with your science project kid. BTW, a Viper w/ 500 cubic inches only makes 505 hp... do you know how many liters 500 cubic inches is?? ... almost 8.2 liters of displacement, which is close to 3.5 times the size of your engine.

I don't care, w/o boost, and lots of it, you're not seeing 500 hp.

Relax guys. Dark, if you want a 500HP N/A setup, that's cool man. I mean, if you fine tune a NSX I am sure if can push out just as much if not more power.

But when you asked, and I quote:
another thing is a totaly custom body kit liek really expensive?
is sorta not matching up with your 500HP engine statement. You see, when you want to have a 500HP NA car, you gonna have some mad mulah to even think about that set up and when your goal is that high, $ ain't no issue no more so why would you care how much a custom kit could cost you?

Give us some directions, list the possible mods and what platform you are going to build your dream on.

methanol burns with a clear flame, so when ppl in the pits were set on fire, no one could tell... that was the hazard. While the fuel has changed, I assure you it's nowhere CLOSE to the cat pee that we pump at our gas stations, regardless of what the FIA says. lemme know how that 500 hp motor works out for ya.

Relax B, give the kid a chance...

But Dark, as B said, your engine is gonna be huge and no 2 liter Honda block can push out that much power unless turbocharged. Even with turbocharge, you are looking at mad internal work to even come that close.

Your best bet is to drop in a C30A engine and go from there. But would a C30A go into a Civic? I doubt it. Unless you extend the front chasis to fit that baby in there. How much does an used C30A gonna cost? Let's see a 90' NSX still runs about 60G+ so the cheapest engine you will see is like what, 30G? or even more? A little bit here and there.... I say if you have 150G to spend on your project, you are that closer to your dream.

Good luck bro.

12G on a body kit, honestly, forget it.

If you want show and go, then go with the go first then worry about show later.

Hope this helps

your Civic = $10K, $23K for motor, 12K for kit, $10K for install of motor, $8K for proper pain job, $4K on interior work, $5K on rims, $5K on susp, that's $77K... for $77,000 you can buy a nice used NSX or Viper... a new M3, a used Porsche turbo, a Lotus, a C43 Benz... why oh why (if you had money) would you mod a platform that's designed for 127 hp max?

Dark, if you have the money to burn, by all means, do it. Ain't no one is gonna tell you how to spend your dope. Even though there might be other ways out of it.

Well, 23G for a C30A is a lot of money but at least you know how much it is. Now you need to contact Altech or other professional shops to custom make you a C30A mount into your EK. Gotta make the car run first. Then you contact some serious tuners such as Mugen or Raybrig for internal parts.... and etc etc. Then you work on suspension, footworks, weight reduction, cockpit design, then you work on your exterior looks.

If you are dedicated to go this route, then do it. There is nothing wrong with dreaming ideas. I wish you luck.
