civics...would you get anything else instead?
would you get anyhitng other than a civic? you own one now but will you upgrade to a new one or will you go bigger andf better? or will u be a civic owner till you die? someitmes ppl post on here and it seems as if they will ALWAYS drive a civic.. to me i think this is just a phase for me till i get older and wiser ... i would definatley want to go bigger and better later on..maybe come back to a civic when i want only reliability and not looks and style

Iwill prob drive mine till IT dies, then something better/ different. Personally, I would like to upgrade, try new things. You really limit youself in life if you don't try new things. However, Hondas are pretty damn good.
I would like to get into a WRX, and when the threat of children comes, maybe an Odessey, or Magnum Hemi. Who knows. |
I'm going to look at something with 4 doors next.
IS300. TSX. STi. MAYBE and SRT-4. And a few others. I want something that I'm not going to sink a lot of money into. But if I decide against that. And want to sink money into something. Either. Supra. RX-7. or maybe see how much I could get a Skyline for. |
i too find myself in this dilemma..
civics i know will last me 10-15 yrs..... i guess it really depends on your stage in life...family, single, pimp? haha.. im looking at the new A3's, or is250 if i dont get another civic. |
at the moment if I "upgrade" it would be to a Toyota echo hatchback...
i'll be driving my civic till it dies....thinking about getting another one...love the gas mileage you get out of them. but if the chance arises i would probably upgrade to a cavaliar z24 of a sunbird...just love those cars...:D
Well I'm going to keep my civic after the lease is done and use that as our family car, then Im going to go get myself an S2000 to play with. Marty can't be the only one in the family with a sporty convertible! :D
Lots of nice cars out there but it all comes down to gadgets and name brand. My car does the work for me. I will buy/drive what I can afford and what I want to afford.
im gonna get rid of it and upgrade when i have a real job and make some real money... then i can get a real car

my civic is just a fun car to rip around. i'll buy a real car in the next yr or two. Thinking 02-05 is300 or a 2002+ 3 series coupe/convertable.
I just sunk $2,200 into mine so I am going to be keeping it for awhile. No, seriously I am going to drive it till it dies and then probably get another. I had a 2005 Civic as a rental car and I liked it too. They are great commuters and excellent on gas. You can't beat the Honda quality.
I can see me changing cars but I will (at least at the moment) always have a Civic to play with.
I just bought mine brand new last feb, i dont see myself driving anything else for 8-10 yrs...
so in that time, its real estate investment. then ill be pushin a rover... |
The way I see it, your car's MRSP should be about 80% of your annual salary. Even if you could afford a more costly vehicle, there should always be nesting set aside for unexpected events, i.e. losing your job.
I won't be getting a new car for a while but, when i do i doubt it will be a civic. The only time ill buy another civic is strictly for commuting or as a winter beater. I want RWD!!!
since i just got my car last year...it would be a while for me to get a new car. if ever that time comes...i would get a high end car such as a bmw, lexus and acura.
I have already 2 Civics, and I still think that if I were to get another car I would get a Civic again or maybe a CSX or used TSX.
Other cars I have thought about getting are the Subaru Impreza, Audi A3, and Volvo S40. We'll see what I'll end up getting this fall. |
Personally I'd like something a bit bigger and more practical, like a Sedan or small SUV/Truck. But, I'd also like something with a but more performance and something that is decent stock so I don't have to spend time/money modifing it.
TSX, WRX, IS300, Accord, Civic Si Sedan. CRV, Tacoma or the new Toyota FJ Cruiser is pretty sweet. I'd love an RSX, but I can't see my wife and having 2 Coupes forever. Honda makes great car's and they will always be one of my first choices. |
my next major car purchase at this point will be an STi, but i will always have a civic for something to play with
i own a golf at the moment, but i think if i could afford it i would get a 67 pontiac GTO with a 502 big block.
Probably save for a while and drive this car till it dies, or turn it into a winter beater and grab a used TSX or WRX.
so you will store the TSX or WRX? wow..thats another thing i dont understand... why do ppl store their civics? unless they are pure show cars.. that arent driveable ( like that guy that wants 19" chromies) why store them? get some winter tires and ur set
I've already left the civic scene. I couldn't see myself driving the same thing over and over when there's such a large selection of vehicles out there. I'd like to drive other makes and models as well. I'm now currently part of the 9th Gen Toyota Corolla Club and Suzuki Katana (Thats right, I've moved on to bikes now..... ) I'm no hater but things just change; different priorities, financial status, and so on, but life continues. As for storing the civic away, gotta have money to do that and if its a 'show' car.
I actually like drivin these lil ****boxes....but then now i am gettin a TSX startin march....i juss love the way these things save gas and r so afforadable and r so small....i love small cars....the TSX is juss so ****ty in my opinion slow as hell...

i'll prolly have my car for along time.....but wont buy another civic......
I dont want a car that I will have to start modding...or at least be enticed to mod it..... So, no more buying civics as a daily driver.....maybe s2k for a summer car...... |
I'd never store the civic, I'd just use it to take to work. I work construction so my car drives over bad terrain and is ALWAYS dirty inside and out. Plus all the gear I need to carry, I'd like a car that's nice and I can keep clean. Civic for work, nice car for play. I'd store neither.

well, last week i was at North Toronto Acura, the Salesman told me that i would be lookin at 52gs w/nothin....1 g more for manual....but 52gs is taxed in already....n i bought my tsx base model, not even auto for 43gs taxed in n stuff
will be getting a honda civic next june or honda fit depending on cost and whats avaliable.. company wants me to have a new more reliable car and brand new so depends on what's around, but I love the honda family so Ill stick with that.
I think i'd buy an A3 or a New GTI for the cost of a new Civic. Apparently in these reviews the editor doesn't even consider the new Civic as a competitor!...lol

This Civic is my first "real" car. The car was bought for me, so it has sentimental value. I intend to hold onto it. I may get other cars but I think I'll always have the Civic. Ideally I'd like to have about 5-6 cars to play around with.
yes
definately my next car will not be a civic |
i rebuilt my civic so its just like a brand new car. for my beater i baught a grand prix and i fell in love with the big comfort.
i like hondas but i would so buy something with a bit more luxery in it any day. |
