are civics still cool?
#11
Nope, not cool. I love mine to no end but thanks to the fact that there are more r-tards driving them than there are stars in the sky, the anti-conformist in me says civics are like tampons, eventually, every ***** will have one. Clean, boosted or swaped civics that go fast and don't look like they're from a b-movie rip off of fast and the furious are still cool, but ricer civics never were and stock civics, while practical and better than most cars are not cool.

As a matter of taste, I hated civics until I bought one. I still don't think it 'looks' particularly cool. And I'm with ol Dusty on the too many idiots driving them comment.
My theory is that the kids that drive them like F1 cars thru traffic are the same people who grow up to have a mid-life crisis, buy a corvette, and are then the people who do 75km/hr in the fast lane. Stop compensating for your tiny weener :P

as a car, civics are infinitely cool (weight, swap availability, wishbone susp, reliability, overall fit and finish, and price)
that being said... the people that drive civics are painfully uncool, myself included.

Poll asked if civics were still cool, not the people who drive them.
IMO, civics are cool. What other econoboxes out there can you do so many mods to and easily make them fast? and still get great fuel mileage?
You can get a cheap eg hatch or crx, gut it, drop a nearly stock b-seires engine in with with few mods (i/h/e) and with the right tires and driver you can run a 13.9 in the 1/4 mile and get over 30mpg on the way home. Or you can take that same car, do suspension bushings, change the springs/dampers, throw some R-compound tires on and go win an autocross event.
Stock civics alone are not cool, because they are just good old reliable econoboxes. It's what you can do with them that makes them cool.
However, civics are becoming uncool with each new generation. The latest gen are getting way too fat, heavy and big to be fun. The thing that made older gen civics so good performance wise, was their light weight, small size, and abundance of spare parts and aftermarket parts and tunability.

I personally think the civic isnt that cool what so ever, however the looks you can give the car and put your own personal twist is cool. The thing is there are so many young goof ***** that rice the **** out of the cars n make every civic look uncool.
i have a 2000 si and it is clean as hell a few simple mods on the outside and it looks mint
n i think thats cool and the reason i bought it was reliability. Not to mention how fast you can potentially make your civic go for like 5 to 6 k. the problem is all the young kids making their cars look like crap but thats my opinion
honestly just keep it clean n that makes it cool
