are civics still cool?
are they?
|
im cool, and i drive a civic...which makes it cool
|
Keep in mind that the civic EF and EG started sport compact import modding scene.
Would you collect stamps and coins rather than modding a car with an abundance of affordable parts? |
they were never cool, they are a good reliable car.

hence why gallagher is getting rid of his POS audi and buying another civic
|
hehehe civic FTW
|
Civics are not cool, the young kids that drive them like they stole them are the cool ones. :)

Nope, not cool. I love mine to no end but thanks to the fact that there are more r-tards driving them than there are stars in the sky, the anti-conformist in me says civics are like tampons, eventually, every ***** will have one. Clean, boosted or swaped civics that go fast and don't look like they're from a b-movie rip off of fast and the furious are still cool, but ricer civics never were and stock civics, while practical and better than most cars are not cool.
|
As a matter of taste, I hated civics until I bought one. I still don't think it 'looks' particularly cool. And I'm with ol Dusty on the too many idiots driving them comment.
My theory is that the kids that drive them like F1 cars thru traffic are the same people who grow up to have a mid-life crisis, buy a corvette, and are then the people who do 75km/hr in the fast lane. Stop compensating for your tiny weener :P |
as a car, civics are infinitely cool (weight, swap availability, wishbone susp, reliability, overall fit and finish, and price)
that being said... the people that drive civics are painfully uncool, myself included. |
Civics are not cool...nor are any other "economy" cars if you can even call a civic an economy car nowadays. They are solid reliable cars.
|
Poll asked if civics were still cool, not the people who drive them.
IMO, civics are cool. What other econoboxes out there can you do so many mods to and easily make them fast? and still get great fuel mileage? You can get a cheap eg hatch or crx, gut it, drop a nearly stock b-seires engine in with with few mods (i/h/e) and with the right tires and driver you can run a 13.9 in the 1/4 mile and get over 30mpg on the way home. Or you can take that same car, do suspension bushings, change the springs/dampers, throw some R-compound tires on and go win an autocross event. Stock civics alone are not cool, because they are just good old reliable econoboxes. It's what you can do with them that makes them cool. However, civics are becoming uncool with each new generation. The latest gen are getting way too fat, heavy and big to be fun. The thing that made older gen civics so good performance wise, was their light weight, small size, and abundance of spare parts and aftermarket parts and tunability. |
delsols are cool.. civics are gay.. :)
|
lol i like this post lol... I kinda drive the 7th gen civic so I am kinda driving a heavy civic then lol... Oh well cheap as hell on gas cant complain.
|
oh lets see..

I personally think the civic isnt that cool what so ever, however the looks you can give the car and put your own personal twist is cool. The thing is there are so many young goof balls that rice the **** out of the cars n make every civic look uncool.
i have a 2000 si and it is clean as hell a few simple mods on the outside and it looks mint n i think thats cool and the reason i bought it was reliability. Not to mention how fast you can potentially make your civic go for like 5 to 6 k. the problem is all the young kids making their cars look like crap but thats my opinion honestly just keep it clean n that makes it cool |
civics were cool when you were 16.
Only reason why I still drive one is because i dumped too much money into it and now if i were to sell it i'd get **** all. |

Here's abetter question, does it really matter what the majority of any bunch of people thought about your car? I've got a civic for a DD ( Hatchback for around town) and wouldn't trade it for just about any other car on the market (assuming value wasn't an issue and all cars were of equal value). I've got another civic ( i sold my E36 mint M3 for) that I wil exclusively use for a part time track and "very" occassional street usage. It's actually a hell of a lot more fun than the M on track and I'm just getting used to it. I could give a Sh_t what anyone thought when I'm maximizing both cars for their ultimate affordable usage. My Track civic is almost worth nw what my M was and it only had 100kms when I sold it and I just gotta say, it's twice as fun on the track. The Bimmer forum guys just cringed when I toldem. Oh well, one day maybe they'll catch on too.
Long live the K20Z1!! |
Civics now = Accords
i wouldn't say Civics are cool. S2000s...now those are cool... |
sickest cars ever :) immature but def. cool
|
imho clean crx's look sexxy. when i say this people look weird at me, but i dont really like any new cars. i like older, more square body shape. also the way i see it, if you can pull up to some spoiled kid with a corvette and take him with your civic, you know that you did something right. i believe in building a car yourself and making it the way you want it. i dont think i would ever buy a new car because there are too many things i would change, so might aswell buy an old civic, dump the same amount of money as you would for a new car but make it exactly the way you want it. downside is cant re-sell for sh*t.
so i would say civics are cool, as long as they are in the right hands :) |
Your plain jane, base model 7th or 8th Gen that are everywhere these days, or your rusted-out EG with a fartcan, not cool.
A new Si, CRX, S2000.... all cool IMO. |
I think they are cool, as long as they are stock or tastefully modded. I think putting in regular gas, low insurance costs and only oil changes required is very cool.
|
Civics are rad!

wonder what whould happen if you posted this poll on a honda forum like H-tech or superhonda? or even better post it on a non - honda site, not something like vortex where you know they'll just talk smack but something like GTcars. this is a civic site and your gonna get bias results.
CRX's are cool if I was starting over and could find one from cali or japan that would be my starting point. I'll never get rid of me EG tho having started there. Even when I bought my car the guy had a 91 CRX Si with only 15k on it. He offered me that car for 6g's but I only had 5 to spen at the time. This car was mint he bought it new and then his dad died and he inherited a prostreet camaro and never really drove the rex. This was in 03 and the car still smelled new inside. It mostly just sat in his garage next to his camaro and only came out for an hour or so, for really nice sunday drive. Man what I'd have done for a grand that day. |
Pssh my civic picks up chicks therefore it's cool.

|
yes, because i say so.

A stock or clean modded civic can never go out of style but the Riced out ones are NOT cool and have been out of style for many years now.
