Civic Hatch
I need some info on civic hatch...
I know alot of people that have civic hatches, so I would be glad to hear from anyone.
Need to know what model has power steering, any other power options is optional. The Civic must be from 1990-1994.
Is rack and pinion hard to install ?
thanks guys

Okay... even though I drive a 92, I still know alot more about the 96-00 features for some reason. There were alot of differences between the US and Canadian models... mainly engines, but i'll try to explain this a bit
CX: Basic model, no side mouldings, rear wiper/washer was an option, power steering only available on cars with Automatic transmissions, 13" steel wheels w/ all season tires, power trunk and gas door.
DX: Everything the CX has plus side door mouldings, rear wiper/washer, cargo cover, power steering only available on cars with Automatic transmission, tilt steering,
Si: Everything the DX has plus power mirrors, power moonroof w/ tilt, cruise control, power steering, passenger side vanity mirror, 3 piece sun visors, tachometer, 4-wheel disc brakes, 14" steel wheels with full wheel covers, and in 93 the side view mirrors and door handles were body colour matched.
VX: Basic model, only available in 5 speed manual transmission, 13"x5 alloy wheels, tachometer, and the chin spoiler found on 93-95 Si Coupes or 94-95 DX SE Coupes.
None of the models came with A/C standard, but was a dealer option. Power windows or locks were not available on any hatchbacks.
Just remember, us Canadians only got the Si from 92-93, while the CX & DX were available from 92-95. I'm not too sure about the VX though.
Hope that info helps....

All true..
Some additions.
95 Canadian CX models had glue on door molding, stock rear wipers.
Dead foot pedal in the Si but and option on the CX and DX.
Si's came with a rear cargo shelf, the CX and DX it was an option.
Si hatches were produced 92/93 and then the Si Coupe was produced in 94/95.
Anyone got anything else.

I didn't test drive nor did I pay security deposit or anything. I told my friend:
"I want a Civic, plum colour, hatchback, white seats, sun roof, cd, and a/c, thanks"
Then 2 weeks later, the car is on the dealer's parking lot...

It is done through North Markham Honda, my friend is the Sales Manager.
White leather seats are done by some other guys that Honda deals with, I don't know who though. The power sun roof is exactly like stock but bigger (tilts and open air). Ya it was an eye catcher when it arrived the dealer, people/sales/buyers were asking "whos car is that?"
But my driver seat is not as white as I first got it, obviously, daily wear and tear, I need to clean it more often. Then back seats are still like new, no one ever sits in the back anyway.
As for price... I felt like an idoit after I realised how much I was paying a month! and it is only LEASING! I never asked my friend for a break down of the individual upgrades. But I suspect they weren't cheap. But I have had the car for 3 years, and I have enjoyed all the way. Sun roof and leather seats sure are nice.
eerrr... I don't know if I want to let people know how much I am paying (for a Civic...), because I can hear the laughter already...

Si hatches had rear discs, Si coupes had rear drums.

Actually coupes only ran from 93-95. As well, the states got the Si hatchbacks all the way through to 95.
As for 96-00's, the DX's ALL came with power steering while the CX's only had power steering with automatic trannys.
I forgot about the stock rear wiper on the newer CX's, but my friend has a 95 cx hatch with NO mouldings on it... ??
QRTR> Who were you? White EK with the gunmetal rims??

There are so many variations to list....also.....92-95.
There was factory AND aftermaket moldings.
The aftermarket ones that where available as a dealer option, had the word "civic" on them.
AC was not a dealer option, but a factory ordered option. Dealers rarely installed these.

Are you sure they are leather seats? I suspect they are plether. It would only take a second for me to know if I saw them.
Either way, who cares what you paid for it....as long as YOU like it.

Thanks guys... the info is great. Keep them coming...
I need to know if power steering is possible and would not require much to install. By saying "require much" I mean no cutting of the body and re-arranging things, but everything else is a go.
Thanks again
