I dont have an account, but I will give a suggestion. Get a Carfax and a Carproof report. The info on them isnt always correct and having both would help sorting out any discrepencies.

When I traded in my 06 Civic, the Carproof report showed that the car had been written off. It was wrong, just a mistake on their part.

Carproof isn't something you should base your studies on. UVIP is sort of the smae thing and you can get it at all mto offices.

For the car to have a record on carfax, the person who wrecked the car or repaired must have notified carfax to update the report.

The UVIP only shows previous owners and registration history, leins on the vehicle, odometer reading, value, etc. Carfax and Carproof show everything. Accident reports, insurance claims, etc. Its not 100% accurate, as I found out, but its better then the UVIP.

well this is for my dad, and he is not buy car jusr on the bases of carfax or carproof, but with their reports it give you some idea. we actually have really good mechanic and he test everyhitng and all our cars when we buy them

I sold this car to a friend 2 years and 5 months ago, in which i haven't received a red cent. He told me that the motor blew at about 250,000km about a year ago, then last week he told me that it caught on fire. Either way he said the car was written off and scraped....I need to know he was bullsh!ting me.

Don't know the details of the transaction, but handing over keys to the new owner without receiving payment in return just sounds stupid (on your part).
