car dies while driving??

hey guys, need some help. my mom's 1990 plymouth voyager van just now while driving died on her, we gave it boost and it started, and 10 sec after we put it on drive and took off it died again?....we noticed the battery indicator shows it's only halfway charged...could it be the alternator or maybe the battery needs to be fully re-charged again?...any suggestions would be great, thanks.

It could be both. Or a 20 year old minivan is just giving up.

altenator.
check altenator fuse and then check altenator itself.
it cant be battery if your running 10-20 secs before it dies cuz that means its using battery power in the mean time.

cars are merely a sum of their parts, they don't just "give up", something (or multiple things) break....

it sounds like the alternator, sometimes a bad alternator can mess up a good battery..
