car broken into....

Okay so two nights ago my girlfriends eg hatch got broken into.

Sure they took her sub and amp...not the deck though
They unhooked the stuff neatly and did not leave a mess which shows they took their time. They did not break any windows or anything like that.

They also took the entire hatch cover because se had 6x9 speakers in it ( which were just some cheap pioneers anyways)

Okay so the whole hatch cover thing kinda pisses me off because i just dont see why that was nessisary.

Now the weirdest part which i want to hear input from you guys on would be the fact that they took all their ownership and insurance papers from the glovebox.

The only reason i could see is maybe coming back to try and steal the entire car?
It is parked in an underground parking lot

Report it (I hope you did already) and mention that the ownership has been taken, and report it to the insurance company as well, since the insurance paper is gone as well.

^yea but still, alarm goes off they get little scared and think twice about it. and maybe alarm goes off and security would have come to see whats going on, or those thieves would have been cautious about other ppl in the lot etc...

Umm dude I have the best 2way paging system on the market and trust me, it does not work through more then one floor above or below it. There's no way the signal can penetrate that much concrete.

Most theives are not detered at all by alarms, especially in underground parking garage's there is hardly any one else walking around. Plus they can cut a siren in about 30 seconds or less from the time they open the door.

never keep originals of your ownership and insurance inside the glovebox, a photocopied of the ownership is good enough in the glovebox, the insurance slip always follows you

sorry to hear about the break in. report right away and i guess you have already done so

is the VIn still on the car? I know a guy who pop off VINS from one of his benz to his other benz so he only has to insure one car.

this happened to a friend of mine. he took his car into a shop for some work. when he got home he noticed that his ownership was gone...the shop denied taking it. then in the middle of the night "they" stole his car from his driveway.

def, if they took the ownership and insurance papers, they're definitely aiming to steal the car.

i really hope she reported it.

i park underground...one level only though and live on the 10th floor (so thats over 110 ft up)...and the pager alarm still works just fine.

and i dont even have a compustar or a viper. they are better than any other brand out there.

x2 i have a 2way compustar and mine goes through 3-6 floors easily... keep the battery levels up and you shouldn't have a problem...
