I can get 500 by the time the light starts coming on...then when I got fill up it takes 40 or 42 Litres, so that tells me that there were still a few Litres left in the tank and I probably could have gotten another 40 or 50 km out of it.

good to hear you guys...

again, really want to praise you guys are the most active forum on earth. I don't think i'll even get half of the replies on the Mercedes board.

Anyway, 500 KM with a auto tranny sound reasonble...
let me keep my tank until 500km.

If i can't make it... i'll let you guys know

but hey Goldbadge, is our tank that big? 40 Litres is alot!

Or, do this...

Fill your car up, grab a jerry can with a few litres of gas and reset your trip odo. Drive your normal routine for a few days until it runs out and you will know exactly how far you can go.

isnt it bad to let your car go down to that low of a gas level? wont it start sucking in dirt?

not only that but fuel acts as a coolant for the pump

well, i can safely hit 400, then it seems a bit harder to start because there is less gas, but i go to 450 no problem. Does my car have a gas light? 96 honda civic cx hatch? I didn't see it...

660 km / tank is the highest I've gone until the fuel light came on. Then turned off as soon as I made a left turn and went another 20 before it came back on again.

wtf?! how are you guys getting such good mileage. i have to fill up at like 420kms. the most i've ever gotten was 450 and that was like 3 quarters of the tank on the highway. how can i make my car more fuel efficient? this is on my stock motor too! i have about 284xxx clicks on the car.
