Damn, I should have waited. I wonder if my dealer can change the rate for me. I'm currently at 5.9%.

So Ed, is the admin fee "waivable" during negotiations or does it have to show up on a sales receipt? thanks

I do agree with what you are saying, but believe me, most people would buy a car from a dealership where they don't know anyone, just to save $200.00. Most people could care less about the salesperson, dealership, and/or service. To them key is getting the best deal.

you're not FORCED to take it, but some places will tell you otherwise, and it really depends on the place...

"best price" or "best deal" is so relative... if you or another person wants to either call a million different dealerships or spend days driving around to different dealership to save $200, then hey, it's totally up to you... I personally, after working in the industry now for a bit, would rather have an over the top sales guy that I can trust and depend on WHENEVER ANYTHING goes wrong and pay that extra $200... hell I'd even pay $500 more.. plus if it's the dealership you're servicing your car at it helps too in terms of goodwill service/warranty work etc...

I totally agree with you. That's the reason why, when I bought my current car, I got it from the same guy (and same dealership) where I got my previous two cars from.

i bought my car at 4.8% and before I even picked it up the rate went down to 3.8% and they changed it for me but it was a really really big deal for them to do I guess. so prolly not if you've already picked up the car... for me they cancelled the original sale and wrote up a new sale.

No, I always lived in Mississauga, but I used to work in Brampton.

Back 9-10 years ago I used to take my old EK to service either at Ideal or Mississauga Honda for service all the time, but I found that Ideal was doing a very poor job at servicing the car (e.g. filling up the oil tank only 1/2 way after oil changes or forgetting to put the dipstick back in the car), and Mississauga Honda was always so busy. Every time I needed an appointment and even with an appointment I needed to wait more than 1 hour for just an oil change.

Classic Honda in Brampton was, at least for me, an awesome change. I used to, and still do, take my car for service over there. Even w/o an appointment they do oil changes, brake service, etc. so quickly. I don't know how one dealership can do that so nicely while others make you wait and wait forever.

Oh, and the other thing I like about Classic Honda is that when the guys take your car in or when they park it outside they drive it slowly and they only take it inside the bays and then once done they park it outside. At Mississauga Honda I remember some young punks taking my car around the block, blasting the music, changing my stations, not to mention revving the engine and putting 4-5 km on the car going God only knows where.

Sorry, didn't mean to deviate from the subject, but I thought I'd share.

how long ago was this? I can assure you that kinda stuff doesn't happen anymore.. new owners, new management, new staff... part of the reason why we were #1 in the PROVINCE for customer service and service... ya we're busy, but we do have express lube's now where you can come in with no appointment, free car washes etc..... I agree with Ideal.. bought my SiR there and made the mistake of servicing it there for a bit and they were a huge dissapointment...

4-door SI used w/ 16,000 miles in Niagara Falls, NY = $16,000

I'm seriously thinking about it.
