Best car for $10,000 - $15,000??

As some of you may know I'm selling my Jetta and have been looking around for a new ride. However, every car I become set on seems to have a gang of negative reviews floating around on the net, so my question for you guys is: for $10,000-$15,000, what is the best car for the best value. Now, I don't want to know the coolest car, just the best. I know Toyotas are pretty reliable, Nissan's too.

Just wanted to get some additional input.

TIA

Being on a Civic board, I'm gonna hafta say a late 90's Civic!

But if I must open it up to other makes, Toyota Corollas are damn reliable.

A question though, do you have any criteria that must be met ie. must have manual tranny, 4 doors, etc.

mark III GTi's are pretty nice and you can get them for cheap, you can get almost any decent used civc for under 15 g's, as long as its a few years old. There are even a few sir's near the 15 range, and those are great cars. If your looking for pure sport b16 powered del sols are hella fast and a good price too, jsut not practical, you caould get an old audi A4. there are a lot of good cars out there, you have to narrow your criteria a bit

Yeah, for what. To be a reliable, economical daily driver? A performance car? I'd have to say an SIR just like your name, or even an SI. They can be had for around $10-15. Look nice, perform decent (SIR), super reliable, good on gas, and there is a ton of aftermarket parts available. An older 5.0 Mustang, Nissan 240, Accord, Altima or Maxima. The list goes on.

i'd say maxima, quite reliable and are pretty peppy stock. With a few mods it can be made fast quite easily. And the best part is they come in stick

what do you hope this car to do?

I'm thinking of selling all my cars except the Civic and buying a CRV. So I'd have a Civic summer car and CRV daily driver. I think the late 1st gen CRV is the ultimate daily driver.

I plan on doing the same thing next year when my lease is up on our Montana. I am thinking 1st gen too!
