HAHAHA...well then, tell me this - why not use a milk crate if you say that? I'll tell you why - one highspeed turn and you'll have crashed. I believe it depends on the driver's size personally and also materials used in making the seat. Leather is obviously a no-no. Just depends on the driver. But I do agree, a fixed one piece chair is probably best for the average sized person as it is more rigid and you need a cro-bar to get your *** out of it.

Anyways, The RR seats sit lower and have thicker bolsters. Sal, I guarantee you once you actually track your car, and track in a car with one piece buckets, you will agree with me.
ok take it easy there first...lol. good discussions need a kick start sometimes.

first of all....it will be totally useless to discuss a comparison between a core race built car seat vs. the consumer level variants for e.g. the civic si buckets or even the latest recaro buckets in the new lancer evolution. the two are made for a totally different style of driving.

it is totally realistic to say that a core racing seat (OMP PISTA for example) will always keep you in place....but it will be at the cost of discomfort and higher level of fatigue when driving daily. a seat of this type will outperform regular buckets any day during tracking, lapping or a similar event.

ITR recaros and SI/Mugen Civic buckets will not be too too different on the track in my opinion. i have driven in both while daily driving....but not on track.

Correct, but no need to go offtopic

I agree, but we're comparing production car seat to production car seat here aren't we?

I just believe the stock seats in a civic/Si aren't that great for holding you. I've had a rental 07 before they even came out, and I took the car for a nice run around the roads in hamilton/milton and I find the SRD's have MUCH better bolster support. For a sprice of $1000, I can get SRD's which are also stock seats.

Yeah, you're right. However there are some core racing seats that are more comfortable than stock seats. IE. Bride, Buddy club wide are both seats that have greater driver comfort than OEM base model civic/integra seats. My current civic seats hurt my back were as the bride's don't after extended periods of driving.

Just wait until you take your car to the track, I'm telling you right now, they make a huge difference. Especially if you're telling me you got coilovers and new rims and tires for your car. Every turn will make you want to upgrade your seat.

yeah but stock seats are made for the general population. you cant compare a racing seat to those. i bet even the Mugen seat wont hold you as good as a racing seat, maybe better than the stock Si/CTR seat. Honda or Mugen doesnt know if some fat *** is gonna buy their car so they have to make the seat hold everybody.

Actually the Mugen RR seats is a carbon tow piece race bucket, very similar to the bride/ some of the two piece recaros (non SRD)

These seats are much better than SRD's. When I met up with Sal he suggested that I get these even though I said I need something that will hold me on the track

I'm saying brides hold you well, it's the same design as the RR, where as the Si is basically a stock 07+ civic seat with suede and red stitching, so it won't hold you well.

Its A pretty bad *** looking Civic thats for sure.. comes with something like 240 horse 160 torque. But all that jazz isnt worth 50G's Usd. Yes 50 000 dollars but even with a high price tag the 2008 model sold out in ten minutes.

I got the magazine that talks about it lol.

^It won't decrease much in value over time though, with limited production and everybody wanting one...I can see these maintaining a very high value.

A FWD 4 door would hardly be a decent track car anyway. 50g's for a Civic? No thanks. The JDM fan boys will love it though.

^the car is faster than an NSX on the track. Would you say the NSX is hardly a decent track car?

This car is currently the fastest type R build...just because it's 4 doors has nothing to do with it's performance. Currently the 4 door's are beating 2 door supercars :P
