Shaddup. I went off on a rant and decided afterwards that it would not help anything to leave it up. ICQ me and I'll tell who I went off on.

cluster look at it from my perspecitve...it wasan invitation to IAPECC...meaning a honest and kind gesture to let you guys know that you have been noticed in the scene and that you were given priority...had nothing to do with politics...instead it was ur way of saying we see IAPECC as an integral part of the scene, and we wanted you guys to become an integral part of the meet as well.
I had intention of posting on the board, secondly...i dont drive a civic yet i attend the TCC meets, i dont drive a VW yet i attend the vw vortex and generationiv.com meets...if i knew of the location of your meets i would gladly stop by to meet your members.
Cleared up now?

"I think tcc did a smart thing...perhaps none of you realize the depth of what they are doing....they are being smart, they are getting public centiment on their side...they want the public to see them as what they are, car guys...that is it. Yes there are members that race....so what....the majority of these guys are trying to develop a reputation for us import enthusiasts to be proud of...they are trying to show the public that we are just like them in all respects except for the fact that our hobby is tuning our cars rather than knitting or some other ****. I think they set an example for those of us in all other clubs...we should all be out there trying to get the public to empathise with us...heck i got pulled over 14 times last summer and never got a ticket...when the public complains along with us about mistreatment and labelling the police participate in - we will have an advantage....politicians will see that there are a vast number of people supporting our situation, and may choose to capitalise on this by making a new strip closer to TO or imposing new protocalls for pulling people over to the police...this harrassment must come to an end...and I dont think criticising positive efforts of other clubs will get us anywhere........"

(this said it best.)

And to Zappa......I never meet you (I don't beleive I did), but your comments to "I thought of it first.....", I don't mean to be crule, but have you heard of....."Shouda...coulda....didn't" ?
The idea for this didn't come from you.....it's older than than you think....ie .....people tring to do some good for their community.
You can say all you want, but if someone is all talk, and no show, they are full of ****.

I took it upon myself after reading the article, to get in contact with them......told him that I, and others, did not like the way "OUR" hobby was being protrayed in the media. We meet up with them and had our say. I just get tired and fed up with people that say they will do something and then just let it sit on the back porch.

Yes I admit there are racers in EVERY club...."TCC".."TSR"...."Club Si"....."The Yugo Club of America"...you get the idea.... but to say that we are all "bithes", is not going to help. There are alot of people out there that frown at street racing....the people that showed up at that meeting were people that wanted to do some good for "OUR" whole group,(people that enjoys cars). I applaude that you wanted to do something as well....good for you! But to say you will, and then complain that someone else did it, shows how immature you are.

WE are all the focus of the cops. PERIOD.
WE are the ones that have to do sonmething. PERIOD.
We are the only ones to blame for all the negative publicity. PERIOD.
And WE are the only ones that can do something about it. Plain and simple.

As for the comment about the cop in our club.....One has been of the force for quite a few years already, and, TWO are curently in study.
They would not be able to hang around the meets if we were doing anything wrong.

I just wish that instead of complaing about what we have done, that you would put all that effort into doing some good for "OUR" hobby.

Coulda......Shoulda......Didn't.

I'm not going to sit on the fence and let our hobby get a bad name, will you?

And anyone qouting from this, please use the whole post, not just part of it. I would like everyone to see the whole thing. (they might take it out of context if they only post part of it.)

And you also have to remember that anyone can get a sticker made (ie.....TSR or CLUB Si ot TCC) and put it on their car, and then go out after driking alot, get into an accident and the have the media see it.

It is OUR responsibility to control our own. The public doen't care if they are a "lone wolf" member.

Like I said.....I have a scraper in the car.:working:

This totally sucks... you try and do a good thing to help the scene in general, and you get slapped in the face by the haters. Screw that, this is enough to make me wanna get rid of my stickers. Showing support to the club is gonna get you targeted by the other clubs? WTF!

Good job with the article guys. Its about time that someone brings up the fact that not all of us that drive modified cars are street racers. It seems the media gives the impression that all modified cars are street racers. Now, if only you guys could do something about the "street racing" articles in the Wheels section of the Toronto Star.
