Anyone up for creating a track day?
My friend and i plan heading to a track after we get our cars tuned (EH2 w/b16 and a 95 prelude) both N/A.
Just wondering if there are any other rookies would like to plan some newbie racing. We'd like to do some drag and circuit. No idea where to plan it.
Any ideas of where to go? Preferably a track that isn't oval.

Trybal, I see you're located in Perrysound.
If you want to do some racing and not drive hundreds of kms or empty your pockets to do so, check out the twin lakes motor club (TLMC) autocross series championship. I've been racing in the series for many years now (this 2009 season will be my 6th year) racing the MR2 you see in my sig. They run the races in the barrie Molson Park Arena parking lot (maple view drive just east of the 400). It is run by an excellent team of individuals (I am one of them) and its a great inexpensive way to race.
You can check out their website: www.twinlakesmc.org
Races are $25 to enter each event, or $20 per event if you become a member. Membership for one season is $25, so after 5 races, it starts to pay for itself. There are usually 8 or 9 races per season, one of those is a members shootout where only members may attend and we all drive one car to see who is the fastest, and the fastest takes home the car. The car is usually just some cheap car someone buys and donates to the club for the shootout. We also host a regional event as well.
So don't know if you'd be interested, but it's something that is much closer to where you live and would be less expensive to do, and you could come to as many races as you want during the season.
Thanks.

Haldimand County has refused to issue an operating permit to the Dunnville Autodrome because of ongoing issues over noise, bylaw, and land use zoning violations.
The track appealed this decision to to the OMB last June. The OMB has already held preliminary hearings on the matter about 5 weeks ago, and will go to full hearings in mid-June 2009. If the OMB acts as expected and rejects the track's appeal, the County will move in to close track operations immediately.

^^There's my baby close up!
As you can see from the body roll we're still running on the stock springs. Race springs are going in before the start of this season.
I finished 5th overall (out of 60 members) last season, going for #1 this season. So come on guys! Give me some competition!
Just out of curiosity, where'd you get that pic? Did you take it?

Dunnville Autodrome lost their appeal to the OMB and shut down all track operations a couple of days ago.
