There should be a plug on your tranny casing that sends info to your cluster...but if you pull this you will lose speedo readings too (but not RPM) so if you know your car well enough you should be able to manage no problem.

Food for thought... it IS just a number so don't worry about it. If it bothers you that much you can always swap your cluster later for something with a lower number. Currently I have 75K 'original clicks on my 94 hatch

LOL I had a friend like that. Thing was... when he unplugged the speedo and started driving the engine light came on...then once he put it back in it stopped....almost like the car knew something was up. Removing the cable at the back is the easiest way I know of. Question on removing a fuse....doesn't it knock other things offline....like the tach etc?

Isn't that illegal, if you go to sell the car?

You talking about Yo Dave....

I've seen people do this but why...

It is very illegal and a nice ticket if you get caught..

Beware.....

It is only illegal if you act fraudunlently. For example, if you disconnect it and then try and sell the car telling the buyer the km's are original... or try and stay within lease agreement km's.
But, for somebody like me that owns the car outright, has no intentions of selling it and doesn't care what the odometer says then there is nothing to worry about.

You could probably get some kind of safety related ticket for it if you were pulled over.

Turning back the cluster is very illegal..

And I believe it is sealed with a transport Canada sticker...

Disconnect the sucker and drive on instinct....

just curious, you arent going to sell your car EVER? i think disconnecting the odometer is bad. it just screws over all the people who want to buy a used car.

If the number bothers you.. Why don't you put a sticker on it.

Like
0000000 KM

That way, you don't see it rollin' rollin' rollin' :-)
