Anyone else have a 2002 Civic Si Veloz?
I've had to take mine into the dealership twice in the past couple of weeks. The first time, the discovered a faulty battery and this time they're telling me that they can't find anything...
Just curious if anyone else has one that has been problematic? Or if anyone knows of any problems with them, please let me know.
Thanks!

I have a 2002 Si and and I've had a few problems with mine.
First the headliner is not fitted properly and leaves a gap between the moonroof and the cover. Seem like a minimal problem, but my car is tinted and it's annoying to have sunlight peaking through.
Second problem I had was with the clutch. It was squeaking everytime I depressed it. So they lubed it up and replaced a few parts.
Just a few things for you to look out for. Like Si-Veloz, I too have not encounted the battery problem.

Hey marty, did you fix the AC to not come on when you turn the button to Defrost?
That happend in my moms 7th gen 4dr, so I tried the trick on 2kicivics, and it seemed to work but the AC still comes on when i go to defrost but I can actually turn the AC off now when I press the button.
Is this normal, or should the AC not come on at all unless I push it to come on.

All Hondas regardless, (as long as it has A/C) will enable the A/C once defrost is activated. 2002, 2003, 1999 etc.
On a 2002 Honda (doesn't have to be just Civic/CR-V) and you did the 'trick' to it, you turned on the defrost, switched off the A/C and turned off the car, the next time you turn on the car, and IF it was left in defrost, yes, the A/C will remain off but if you changed the mode, the A/C will come back on. I would have to confirm the logic on a 2003.
Now from what I understand, the only difference between 2002 and 2003 models is that in the 2002, the A/C light will come on but on 2002, the A/C light will not. In both cases, A/C will be activated. Why did Honda do this? There were too many complaints on defroster performance and it is well known that dry air clears windows better. A/C helps dry air. The big 3 cars all do this.
Why are you switching off your A/C anyway at this time of year? Another thing is, if the ambient temperature is below -7 the A/C compressor will not turn regardless if the A/C light is on or off. Changing that A/C light won't do anything for fuel economy at this time of year.

P.S. you don't have to believe me but those who know me, know I have very good sources.
