Am I being too nice?

I am posting here cause I know theres gotta be someone here who has dealt with Art Auto Sport in Pacific Mall.

I brought in a strut for warranty back in April 2005. They said, it'll take them 3 weeks to get it back. So I patiently waited.. called once in a while.... after 3 months still no word from them and they said they can't find my receipt. The box had their Art Auto Sport stamp on it, therefore it was sold by them.

I keep calling every once a month... and at one point, they even told me to call their supplier, which I did and then the suppliers said they don't deal with individuals... so I am back to ground zero.

Its JAN 2008, every time I call they told me they'll follow up for me, and everytime its got no result. I even asked for the refund and of course, they said no. But i honestly think its only fair that I get my money back now... after waiting 2.5 YEARS.

What can I do???

burn their shop...jk

if you have been following up for so long..its clear that they are not interested in helping you out at all. fortunately i havent had such an experience so i dont know but im sure you can report them to the consumer beaureau (a province website i dont remember the name exactly) but dont know since this is kinda old.

buying parts from such shady places is always a risk.

Well, legally you are limited to what you can do. Since i know that store's warranty policy is not outlined. You can file a report to the Better Business Bureau, won't do much but could help. Another thing you can do is, if you have a receipt and figure out if the warranty policy is outlined, you can of course take it to a civil court and get your money back and some more for loss of time and what so ever. It all depends how far you want to go, In my opinion, just go to the store and make a scene. They are dumbasses who don't know about half the products they sell.

I certainly would not have waited almost 3 years. Thats just dumb. I would have just got new ones right from the start and not even bother with some shop.

yep... Why would u buy car parts there anyway... there are cars shops EVERYWHERE

just go back, get ur strut and leave... if u want to , make a can on spray paint and 'accedently' press the top for 10 seconds well spinning in a circle... tell them you're sorry and you'll pay for the damage while laughing.. then run.. cause odds are u will need to...

PS- 3 years after the intial warranty request is a joke.... on your behalf (for letting it get to this point) and theirs for being shaddy, but they're Pacific mall and its expected.

Take them to Small Claims Court.

Also notify the Better Business Bureau.

dude, no offense but people that do what you just did are destined to get punked everytime. Who in the hell waits 2.5 yrs to resolve something. good luck getting anything done now. first things first, always deal in person when shyt goes wrong so that your seriousness and determination is clear from the start. phone calls are for p*ssies! address the situation like a man and you will get it resolved like a man. The day someone tried that on me would be the day I walk out their front door with a bunch of free parts and a thank you come again.

it's too late now so just man up next time pony boy.

I've had a similar expereince with auto stores in the p-mall.
I bought a mugen style front lip for my eg/hb. stupidly I bought it in january o6 and didn't get around to even testfitting it until I was going to install it. My car was in storage outta town at a farm up north for the winter. For all the hassle of digging my car outand test fitting in the cold, not worth it. problem is that the lip is about 1-2 inches short of wrapping around the front bumper. I tried talking to the guys at that shop and they don't even carry lips anymore b/c of all the fittment issues they've been having.
I'm still thinking of a magiver solution to my lipnot fitting. like low heat and strech. hey if I f**k up I'm only out a lip that doesn't fit.

I don't think there is much you can do after this long but I suggest making a scene. Don't just show up and be an r-tard but maybe have some friends show up first and "browse" like they are potential customers. making the shop look buys to the employee's. Go near closing time so they'll just want to deal with you so they can go home. start off being level headed. DON'T SWEAR. raise your voice, but keep your cool. If they feel threatend and call security or the cops your SOL but your friends cab stop and look at them and say to each other "is this how they treat customers here?". "hey let's go check "insert your favorite parts store here" tomorow!" and leave. maybe have a third friend also appering to be a stranger come in at the point they leave and sort of ignore the situation at first. try to talk to another emplee about parts he wants. and then as he seems to be comitting to the sale notice the comotion and be kinda unsettled by it and make the sale realyy difficult for the guy to get and then say " nah I don't wanna order things that could get me into his shoes, you guys are screwin him right in front of me that's no way to do bussiness" and leave too. If all that STILL doesn't work. pull out the spray can, and maybe some fart spray and blast them both as you run outta the store. Just kno where the nearest exit is first. Don't get into your own car if this is how you leave. they'll follow you on camera and get your plates. or leave you car off the property and have a bike or my person fav a skate board. to get you back to your car.

I didn't think about doing this to the store that screwed me or anything.

I wish the customers that call me would just call me every month about a warranty and just shrug it off.

I would go in there and reason politely. You have been waiting a long time.

If it doesn't work, that would be the next best option. It may be pricey though I am not sure.

I bet there wasn't a warranty to begin with and it was grey/hot item to start off with.

You waited 3 years ? OMG!! WHY???? Cut it as a lost and move on. 3 yrs is way too long.

After a month I would be WTF going on?
