Okay.. so like it says a 93 civic si.. me my boss and my friend that works on saturday were arguing bout the guys hatch.. i asked all my friends how u can tell its vtec cuz he told me it wasnt vtec so i argued my point i bet my boss that it was.. and i showed him the vtec solinoind behind the valve cover. and not only that it has a sun roof. the oil cap is on the top right side. the spark plugs r down the front of the engine not in the back. the engine code was d16z6. he doesnt have power windows. and he said he bought the car from a guy that said the car wasnt vtec. he got the book about a nonvtec engine or somthing i dont know but i believe its vtec.. my boss says he called up honda today which is saturday and gave them the vin number and the engine code and they said its non vtec. can ne one post pics on here to show how u can tell the engine is vtec.. so i can prove them all wrong.

if the soleniod is there then it is vtec.

d16z6 engines come with vtec. You just can't really tell once it kicks in cause it's SOHC and SOHC vtec aren't that noticeable.

It's vtec.

my boss says he called up honda and they said thats a different solinoid not the vtec solinoid

there's a post somewhere that kieran posted up with a finger pointing to the vtec soleniod. Do a search. It might show up.

The soleniod should be on the passenger side of the vavle cover, just past the distrubator.

i found a picc but icant seem to be able to put it on here cuz my computer wants to be gayy.. its a circle with but a cylinder that goes down into a triangle that has 3 bolts right

i argued cuz i wanted to prove to the guy he had vtec.. and my boss made me look like an idiot by sayin its sumthin else.. and he even went on the computer but only came up with a del sol vtec.. nothing else came up vtec.. but its okay.. so i am soo sure his car is vtec.. that i told my boss id bet him $500 that its vtec.. and that if im wrong that id work for free for $500.. but he also said he called up honda today.. and gave them the vin and the engine code i donno if i said this.. and the honda dealership said it was non vtech

there ya go.. that little soleniod on the left hand side is your vtec.

And tell your boss to pay up $500. I think you should donate half your funds to TCC for helping ya out
