D15 head?

friend of mine just blew the timing belt in his '88 Civic Sedan... We're pretty sure the valves are bent, he might sell me the car cheap. I'm gonna try a timing belt on it to make sure, but If not, I'll need either a D15 head or entire engine...again, cheap

This is just for a winter beater mind you

Will a head off a 5G D15 fit? My cousin has a rebuilt head off a '93 LX sedan that I can have for free. Is this head different (isn't the injection different between 4/5G) and even if it is can I still put it on?

Yup.. it'll work fine. Don't forget to order a new headgasket.

OK, I need some opinions, the belt went on him on the highway, so obviously the car quit... does this automatically mean that the head's cooked??? Can I just try to put a belt on it first, cuz if that works it'll be so much easier than changing the head... Will this do any more damage?

You can try, but it might be a waste of time.

MIGHT, that's the operative word... If it worked it'd be pretty funny though. Is there any way I can tell for sure??? If I take the valve cover off will I be able to see? If I try to turn the camshaft the valves won't move if they're bent right???

if the belt went on him on the highway, u have smacked valves...meaning they are bent. there is no point trying to put a belt on a car with bent valves. it's facked.
