I picked up my white SiR last week. I had the dealership lower it 1.5" on sportlines and I'm just waiting to get my white Tenzo Shu-4s in. The 17's will look wicked. Anyways....the lowering makes it look like a completely different car. And it will only be a matter of time before people are diggin it. My only beef is, the redline comes up way too soon. And the engine is super quiet...I can't tell when to shift without looking at my tach. (of course the loud music doesn't help, hehehehe)
As far as performance....who says this car doesn't have *****?
I had it up to 170km on the 401 the other day and it still had plenty of oomph left to go. To be honest...it felt like I was doing 90. very smooth ride.
Totally different from my old 93 Si hatch. When I was going fast in that thing ,it certainly felt like it.

dan you thinking of getting one of em?

havn't driven it, but yea, for sure test it out. you may be too tall!

as for the looks... it's up to the person, to me it looks way to close to an odessey... i dunno if i'll like it or not. just like the 7th gens... i'm liking em a bit more as i see em done up. the 6th gens i love, and as for duy's comment... i dunno, back when the 6th gens came out, i wasn't really looking closely!

Hey SmoothOperator,

According to the Honda's user manual,
I thought you're not supposed push your car until it's "break-in period" has finished or it could harm your engine...

I am just wondering...

You're absolutely right...they said to avoid quick accelerations and hard breaking for the first 1000k. But, I couldn't help myself. I had just picked up the car (with 7 k on it!) and I was on my way to show my parents..they live 30 min from me. Since that day, I've taken it easy. As least as much as I could! hehehe
I'm dying to rev it up and drop the clutch....patience...patience....

Speaking of which, I've read this type stuff a lot. What do you guys consider a good "break-in period"?

Man, you guys should come to Hamilton. They have a million new SiR's just sitting around waiting to be driven. Those cars are hot! So many people bash it because it looks like a focus in the pics, but in real life, it looks pretty cool once you modify it. If anyone wants a test drive, I have pretty decent hook ups with the guys at Hamilton Honda.

That Stream is made by Honda, and the design is identical to one of the early 7th gen Civic hatch designs, which were as a 5 door hatchy/wagon.

According to the owner's manual (based on my 98 Accord Manual)

Break-in period
"Help assure your car's future reliability and performance by paying extra attention to how you drive during first 1000km
During this period:

Avoid full-throttle starts and rapid acceleration
Avoid hard-braking. New brakes need to be broken-in by moderate use for the first 300km."

But in reality, I would try to behave more until it hits 6000km(after the first oil change), do not REDLINE until it pass 10000km. Avoid driving long trip (3+ hrs) within break-in period.

Again, it just an example of how I "break-in" my 98 Accord.

I forgot about how I did with my Civic (too long ago...13yrs), but I wasn't a crazy driver until I met Jugglez!

But if you are driving a brand new "rental"...screw it!

regards,
Mugen C

I broke in my civic by staying under 3000rpm for the first 2000-3000km and under 3500rpm until 10,000km. the speed is actually irrelevant. I believe mildly long trips with even milder driving actually helps break in the car better.
man, stay away from the redline for a while, would ya? congrats on your new car

Yup you it was posted on V1, the site is www.customcivics.com - but I don't think that car is there anymore.
