Don't buy an SI for the added power if you're going to swap it anyway. If you want the accessories it comes with, then go for it.

There is a difference between the 96 and 99 EK's but not THAT huge of a difference and especially not worth the few extra thousand $$$ you'l pay for a 99...Besides you can just get a 96 and make it look even better than a 99 for under $1,000...get a nice lip, sir tails, u can even get a lip for the rear...and sir rims if u want as well...

man you change your mind way too often, wait till you get a license and test drive the cars you like. No sence in buying a civic for purely look if you dont like the way it drives and handles. And i told you 6th gens are way better!!!!

go for the 99-00 version, youll thanks me later on, get the se version even, and swap in a d16y8 SI engine later on when that one dies, its cheap to do also. it would be better than trying to make the 96 look as nice as a stock 99

Well it depends on insurance. I bought my car for $6000 and have basic coverage, now if i purchased a 2000 si for 12000 id kind of have to get full coverage. Now the difference between full coverage and basic is crazy with my kind of record. When i bought my car i didnt really care what body style i got aslong as it was it good shape and was maintained properly. I got papers for every oil change, every part that was changed and the yearly krown rust proofing. Look around for a car that wasnt beaten on (stay away from cars with fart cans and clear corners).

plan is to get a 96... si, insurance will only cost me 200 bucks a month.. including fire and theft.. that way i can have all ther power features and hopefully!!! ABS LOL

also so i can swap an engine in it, because if i got a 2000 i would only be able to swap in a newer engine.. this way i can still get a b18c1

always inspect it very well... i went with a mechanic to buy a car.. the guy was trying to tell me it hadn't been in any accidents.. while the mechanic i was with told me at least two distinct accidents... we were arguing until he said go get a mechanic... we were looking at a nissan... my mechanic associate pointed out that he was a mechanic.. for nissan.. hahaha

he shut up.

ALL car salesmen are liars... you should understand this.. you'll get idiots telling you they are giving you a deal because they trust you.. or just for you because (they're find something to say)

"You're armenian's? ah, my brother married an armenian, i'll look after you"... etc..

don't be so picky with what year you want... get a range of what car(s) you want.. and go looking... if you're spending a fair bit of cash.. you should get one certified.

Remember, all salespeople are liars.

Front Bumper - C $42.38
Front Upper Grill - C $36.14
Hood - C $121.03
LS and RS Fenders - C 77.28
Rear Bumper - C $39.93
Head Lights - C $100-200 "angel eyes"
Tail Lights - C Under $100

this should cost around $500, anything else i would need to do this swap on a 1996 civic coupe? and do i have everything listed properly etc..

and what's dif off..

Primed & Raw and what does it mean if it has CAPA Certified Part and does it really make a difference?

I still like the 96-98 better. With a CTR grille and lip, the front looks way better then the 99-00. The newer ones have those ghey fake scoops in the front bumper that look stupid unless you have the OEM fogs installed. The newer ones just look like a fake SIR when you add the the CTR parts. The 96-98 looks more original with the same parts installed I think.

Try to find one fro a Honda dealer. They might be a little more $$$, but chances are the car will have a service history and you could probably buy an extended warranty too. Oh, free lifetime free oilchanges too.
