Wheel Lock Key Stolen - Solutions Needed Please
Hey TCC Members,
Just yesterday my car ('99 Honda Civic EX 4-door) was broken into- nothing important missing, except for the Wheel Lock Key for my tuner rims (American Eagle Series 193)
http://www.aewheel.com/eagle_alloy_wheels.cfm?id=79
I read up on some forums, and it seems some small garages can remove the wheel lock nut (using some brute force methods) for cheap - but can produce some fatal results on the rims (round scratch marks around the lug nut area).
What do you guys recommend? Taking it to a dealer? Or do you know of any performance shops around town (Mississauga, Oakville (Preferably) area) that can do a careful\neat job and for a good price?

Rdub, Yea, I've been worried about the same thing. Although it did happen in another part of town.
Any recommendations where would be a good place to take the car to?
Do you have any shop in mind around the Oakville (or surrounding) area?

popular belief would have u believe that ur lock is one of a kind. NOT true at all..
ive lost 3 keys before, only to have a tire shop have the exact pattern to take my rims off..
just go ask a shop that can do it...
I went to the tire shop at markham and sheppard.. can't remember what it is called... tire depot maybe? north/east corner
try them

fingolfin, your very right. I called up some places around town this morning, and they said just that. They have a universal key that they can use to get mine off, without scratching them at all.
I'm due in this weekend at a local shop - I'm getting replacement wheel locks put on at the same time (probably the same as I have already, unless anyone can recommend a higher grade of affordable wheel lock nut brands).
Thanks everyone for their quick\immediate help.
I'll let you all know if I'm successful this weekend.

For all who helped, heres an update.
After about a week of running around (from store to store) and calling, I finally found a place that carried the exact socket key for my tuner lugs - they removed the old lugs without scratching the rims, plus I ended up changing the tuner lugs on my wheels as well.
Thanks to everyone.
