Hi everyone.

I'll be picking up a 93 del Sol Si withing the next month and I'd like to start researching now in preparation for the upgrades I want to make. The del Sol is a 93 Si with a d16z6 automatic ( planning a manual trans swap). The front rotors are the 9.4" (240mm) size, non-ABS. The rears are disc as well.

I currently have a 96 Civic Si (EX Coupe) with many mods including the suspension build I just did less than two months ago. It's been built for occasional daily driving but more so for time attack and autocross duty. Luckily quite a few mods are transferable but some things I'll have to buy again.

I want to upgrade the brakes on the del Sol. My EK has the 10.3" (262mm) rotors. Last year I installed ATE slotted rotors, Hawk HP+ pads and stainless steel braided brake lines.

I know that the same "big brake" upgrade applies to the del Sol as it does to my EK (i.e. Prelude VTEC/Corrado 11" rotors, ITR/Accord wagon calipers, etc...). I was wondering if anyone could confirm that I can swap over my current brake set-up onto the del Sol.

It appears that the calipers are not the same so I'm guessing it won't be as easy as simply swapping the 10.3" rotor on and the caliper. It may require to take the knuckle off the EK.

Can anyone confirm this? (while I keep looking...)

Update: Looks like the brake lines will fit!

Think I found my answer:

"If you have 9.5" front brake rotors, do not dismay, this brake upgrade can be made to fit Civic and Del sol models with 9.5" rotors and AKEBONO calipers but requires the replacement of both front spindles, hubs and bearings. Consult with the factory service manual to replace those items and then integrate the above instructions for installation of the TYPE R brakes."
