transmission problem.. need some advice

i have a 2002 acura 1.7 el and about 2 weeks ago i noticed that when i accelerate from a stop in 1st @ approx 1200 rpm i get this vibration/rattling noise coming from my right foot, however, if i launch anything about 1500 rpm their is no noise :S

im thinking this problem is due to a broken transmission mount??

some input please thanks

You just answered your own question. Low rpm motor struggles to get going and due to the broken mount you have it vibrates around. Fix the mount and your problem will be gone.

is there any way of knowing which mount might be damaged without removing the entire transmission?

The tranmission mount is on the side... Attached to the transmission. There are 5 mounts... 3 REAL mounts(x2 Engine: Driver side, and 'behind' the engine,x1 Tranmission: Passanger side easy to trace.) , and 2 'damper' mounts, which have very little importance.

Look at the mount(s) and check for cracks and possibly fluid.

I'm not 100% if it mounts. So that's where my mounts are, and what mine looked like before dying. (96' HB w/ 97' B18C & S80 LSD)

Yes, it does sound like a mount problem. Take a look at all the mounts to see if one is sagging or really worn out. It's not un common to have to change 2 or more mounts.
