Shops for K20 a swap

Does anyone know any shops that could do a K20A swap into a 1995 EG Civic Hatchback. I already know about Defcon Racing and Slipfire but im just trying to get some more options. Thanks.

I have also heard some rumors about them. Is there any other shops you would recommend. I was told by a few guys i know to go check out JK over by the "Fine Car Collection."

Also, has anyone had any experiance with Defcon Racing. I have heard they are suppsed to be very good, and do a clean job.

I know there is a lot of pro K people out there... but imo I would just do 2.0 liter vtec and boost it. Probably still under the price of a k even with a built bottom

I have been trying to look for a shop that can supply the engine, transmission, mounts, etc..; so once i am ready to get it done (time, money, etc..) all the work can be done at one place.

The reason im looking for a K20 over a B20 is because i want to build it all motor without any boost. So from what i have heard/ researched, i thought the K20 would be a better platform that the B20.

The way he personally attacks people in this thread, doesn't speak well of the way he runs his business IMO.

K20 has a better bore stroke ratio (86mm / 86mm) vs. B20 (84mm / 89mm) which is a rather important factor for a high revving NA engine IMO. However, that is only critical if you are going into such detail. If you are only after horsepower/torque, it can be attained in many other ways other than K engine platform.

Nontheless, 86/86 is a better design over 84/89, if you are comparing 2 liter vs. 2 liter.

Good luck with your search/swap.

Defcon-Racing all the way....I know I'm biased as Dave is one of my best friends but my race car was built him, The swap was done 4 years ago, raced hard, beaten on, and never had so much as a hiccup....Runs as smooth now as it did when we first started it.

Oh by the way.....When the swap was first started, it started on the first shot..no engine lights or anything and this was back when there were only 2 or 3 other K20 swaps around and Dave had done 1 of the others as well.

Thanks for the comparison info "Nova Dust".

The post by "1999 ITR" kind of pushed me more towards Defcon Racing, i am curious to here if any one else here has any sort of experience with Defcon Racing.

Though I have not dealt with Defcon (business wise), but Dave is very helpful and friendly, both in person and on the phone. I have spoken to many shop owners who make you feel that you are wasting their time (and I don't blame them, they are busy running business and here I am, asking all kinds of n00b questions, but that's why they get paid big bucks for what they do), only a handful of guys would spend time over the phone and explain things to you.

First impression is important. And I have turned down many shops because of that. I can tell you Dave is not one of those. But of course, you will have to show the same level of respect first.
