Info about '93 civic Si

I just bought a 1993 civic Si coupe. I'm wondering what some good engine mods would be for it. Any suggestions...?

A b-series swap is your best bet IMO.
D-series suck unless boosted (even then they're meh at best IMO)

Do a swap, only way to get some reliable power.

I had a d15b7 making a 135 whp. With a delta 272 camshaft and a rage racing y7 cam gear, SI tranny and all the other good stuff, I/H/E. So it really depends on what kind of hp you're looking for. My hb ran a 15 flat which is pretty good for a d-series engine all motor.

so you spent $2000 and got 135whp? How much torque.

Thats my point, a stock *** b16 will make more than 135whp. And you could easily do a b16 swap for about $2000 if you do all of the work yourself.

Yeah I just got myself a 92 civic SI after having a 95 Integra for about 3 months (hated it). The civics are quick because they're light and sure the b-series motors are a decent swap but if you wanna put money in and really start impressing people, get a k-series, i'd suggest a k-20.

There's a white EG floating around my area with a k-24 on boost. Now that's a civic that really goes. That's impressive. I'm getting kind of sick of the b-series civics.

Now a k-series motor is a harder swap yes but all you need to do is mod some of the mounts, and a few other things, and you'll be fine. You just have to have a good idea of what your doing. And as for the b-16 if you really want it, you can get the full motor and tranny installed for just over 1400 if you look hard enough. Just gotta know the right people.... Happy hunting.

B.S my ***. Don't no how to post pictures. But have dyno to prove it. And I did'nt spend $2000 bucks getting there. I'm 31 and I've been around Honda's for a little bit. Had a GSR and a swapped B-series EG but I've got a kid and going to the track to run 1/4 miles has lost it's luster. I just built this car up for fun and for the underdog factor. Went to the track once in September and ran a 15 flat. This was after tranny swap just wanted to see how she would do.

He never asked what the best engine swap was. He asked what are good engine mods for his SI. And everybody knows that a B-16 will make more power then a SOHC. But with the right set up a SOHC can hang with a stock DOHC.

Yeah k-series are quite a bit more expensive, and I understand that at 31 project cars are more something to do then something to revolve your life around.

I'm still super young so I really wanna stick something crazy into my hatch before I start a family and get to old to mess around with civics. I just know so many people who have b-series civics... call me arrogant, but I just wanna stand out. B-series still go though, especially with strong parts and good mods.

I just find it hilarious how some people do a whole swap and numerous mods on a civic for under 5000$. I love civics.

Let's see. Engine cost, Hondata, engine mounts, axles, tranny blah, blah, blah! $5000.00 or somewhere around there to put a K in a civic. Especially if you have to pay someone to do it for you.

would be fast but a k20 isnt gonna happen for 3000 and if ur gonna spend that much o na engine swap id get a top model civic if i was you only for option wise, thats my opinion anyways yah u want the sleeper thing not to many ppl expect a k20 in a civic, infact alot of ppl dont expect civics to be fast at all which is why you gotta show them up with there crappy american cars :P

I'm guessing you guys would think.. maybe a k-24/20 would be foolish and not worth it in a ef3 seeing as how its an boxier (uglier) civic?
its just very tempting because no one would expect it.. hmm...

I've found in the civic world, you can never judge the book by the cover. It seems now a days every civic out there (stock looking or not)atlease has a swap, or a turbo for their d series or wat not.
but an old Ef with a k24/20 would be hella scary in my books. not foolish at all
