4 Bolt or 5 Bolt ???

Hey guys, I was just wondering if you guys could give me alittle knowledge as to which is better and why..whats more common for RIM??

??? 4 Bolt or 5 Bolt ???

DumbasSi 16-Mar-2007 04:44 PM

For Honda's, 4 bolt is more common. Pretty much every Civic, Accord, Prelude, Integra was 4 bolt up until a few years ago, or special models. Now, most are 5 bolt.

5 bolts are supposed to be stronger then 4.

ok...thanks for your info...ill probably go 5 bolt as long as i can find all the parts :-)

whoa... hold on there

if u already have 4 bolt, why do u wanna change to 5 bolt for?

its not really worth it unless YOU want it... a 4 bolt setup is strong enough to probably do what ever it is you want to do.

If you don't think its strong enough, get stronger rims first.
IMO doing the 5bolt setup is a waste of money

already done... got parts off a JDM ITR...i love the new braking power..and RSX rims...

imported_spade17 16-Apr-2007 03:36 PM

how much is it to convert from 4 bolt to 5 bolt

imported_kmodee 16-Apr-2007 03:47 PM

first you gotta find the parts... i got them from optionjdm. which run for around 1000...then u need new Rotors/brake pads. depending on what you get....is how much that price will go up...then defcon/ART did the install.. also you need to find RIMS. which could be easy..since u can get the RIMs of many cars that Honda makes...i have RIMs off an RSX which i really like on my car.. contact either optionjdm or Defcon Racing for more info on pricing.

Why do you need new rotors?

imported_WhiteBoy 17-Apr-2007 01:07 AM

4 bolt = 4 holes in rotors....5 bolt = 5 holes in rotors :S

Actually the itr calipers are really the only good reason to upgrade to 5 bolt, and the rim options i suppose. I can personally think of better things to spend the money on (umm anything?) and if you want to stop quicker and you already have 4 wheel discs the best upgrade would be good tires. A good working oem braking system provides more then enough braking power and efficiency for the modded daily driver (those who are cursed with the rear drums on their civic, the rear assembly off of the corresponding integra chasis bolts straight up). If you want to spend the cash for the flash then do as you wish, but there are better ways to use your dollar.

I was actually refering to this part....I was always under the assumption that 5bolt conversions usually came with rotors, no?

imported_kmodee 17-Apr-2007 06:25 AM

yah they do...but they are usually rusted...they come with all parts needed for the swap...except brake lines..which is another thing you have to buy..but everything else is there...if u get lucky.maybe u'll get a good set...but chances are all are pretty rusted...

iam_immigrant 17-Apr-2007 03:25 PM

ahh right...thanks for clearing that up.
